WATCH THE WORD! - 3

Text:Luke  1:38
And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

Today, we shall be looking at a scenario of how Apostle Paul watched over the word of God issued to him in the face of danger while traveling to Italy.

While on the journey, Paul said to them, "Men, I perceive that this voyage will end with disaster and much loss, not only of the cargo and ship, but also our lives." (Acts 27:10). They refused his counsel and this got the passengers into big trouble.

In spite of their neglect of Paul's counsel, the LORD still sent his angel to Paul and gave him a word of comfort saying, "Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar; and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you." (Acts 27:24).

The Lord has given Apostle Paul a word that he needed to watch over, and that is: " His safe arrival in Italy to stand before Caesar and the safety of all the people in the ship with him".

We shall be looking at the role Paul played to ensure that God's word sent to him through His angel did not fall to the ground.

At a point in time, the sailor were making an attempt to escape from the ship, Paul caught them and reported to the centurion and the soldiers, he said "Unless these men stay in the ship, you cannot be saved." (Acts 27:31).

Paul took the very first action by stopping the attempt of the sailor to abandon the passengers on board in order to escape. This was an indirect assault from the enemy to stop the word of God to Paul.

That's the reason Jesus asked His disciples to take heed, watch and pray... (Matthew 13:3). If Paul had not taken heed and watched, the sailors would have jeopardized the lives of the people contrary to the promise of God.

*Do not accept any situation that is contrary to God's word and promise for your life.*

As you keep your watch over the word of God and His promises for your life, your health, your family, your business and your church, God will be committed to honour your watch.

Immediately after Apostle Paul cried out against the sailors who were going to jeopardize the lives of the passengers, the centurion and soldiers cut off the ropes of the boats with which the sailors were planning to escape with.

May the Lord continue to give you the grace to keep your guard over His promises in your life. May He give you the strength to cut of every attempts the enemies are making to disrupt or terminate your life in Jesus name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

BEWARE OF DOGS

Text :  Philippians 3:2. Beware of the dogs! Beware of the evil workers! Beware of the mutilators! Usually, when you see the inscription "BEWARE OF DOGS", you instantly know there's a wild or trained dog around the corner, hence, the need to beware.  However, when God says 'Beware of dogs,' He wasn't actually referring to dogs as in 'animals' but to animals in human skin. Note that this caution was given to believers against other so-called  believers.  That is, some people within the church that we refer to as brothers and sisters are actually operating in the capacity of dogs.Though fellow worshippers in the church are called brothers and sisters, but if they behave like wild animals, know that they are dogs in humans skin- BEWARE. Matthew  7:6 says *Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.*  Essentially, dogs don't have capacity to r...
