Text. Matthew 5:16.
In the same way, let your light shine before people in such a way that they will see your good actions and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Have you ever wondered why you were saved and your brother or sister that you were exposed to the same gospel together is not saved yet?
Why did God single you out among your siblings, friends, colleagues and within your neighborhood.? Why did you receive understanding to come to light and they did not?
Well, mercy attended to your soul. He says in Romans 9:15 that, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So you should be eternally grateful for the mercy you have received.
Secondly, you were saved to bear fruit, so that through you, others will come to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. You are where you are today so that your light might show unto others for them to see the glory of God, and come to light as well.
Jesus said in Acts 1:8 that, *But you’ll receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you’ll be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”* It's obvious that power was bestowed upon you so you could be His witness.
Again, He said in John 15:8 that " _Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples._ "
So, your life as a Christian will bring glory to the Father when you bear fruit, and this goes to prove that you are Jesus' disciple indeed.
No one is satisfied with barrenness. If as a Christian your life is not producing fruit that will lead others to eternal life, then your Christianity is questionable.
Please, don't add to the statistics of already too numerous nominal Christians that are prevalent in our world today. Be a Christian indeed.
Let the Holy Spirit have full expression in you, so that your life can bring sweet smelling savour unto the Father and eternal fruit unto people around you.
