DISTRACTIONS

TEXT : Luke 10:41&42

And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

One of the greatest weapons the devil employs in attacking believers is distraction. He does this in order to take believer's focus and attention away from the most important thing.

Just like any believer, Mary received Jesus into her home, but instead of giving attention to the most important personality in her home, she became grossly distracted in the bid to serve Jesus Christ.

If you do not take heed and pay attention to yourself, you may sincerely loose yourself in the course of serving Jesus Christ.

While Martha was busy making efforts to serve the table, Mary was busy eating from the very table (Jesus Christ) that Martha was running helter skelter to serve.

It is important for you to know that Jesus Christ is more interested and places more priority in what He wants to offer you than what you've got to offer Him.

Anything that takes away your attention and focus from Jesus Christ, no matter how legitimate it may appear, such is a distraction. The plan of God is such that all that He's given unto you must not distract you.

What are the things hindering you from focusing your gaze on Jesus Christ fully and completely?

May you receive grace to  be able to overcome every distractions around you and in your life in Jesus name.

Just sitting, listening and gazing at Jesus is worth much more than running errands for Him.

In the midst of several legit distractions and noises in our world today, may you receive help and strength to be able to chose and pay attention to that one thing that is needful in Jesus name.

 Bible reading:

Luke: 10:38-42.

 PRAYER FOCUS

1.) Father, I receive the grace to always fix my gaze on Jesus Christ in all situations and never to yield to distractions.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
