ELEVENTH HOUR

Text :  Matthew 20:6 And about the eleventh hour he went out and saw others doing nothing; and he says to them, Why are you here all the day doing nothing? Jesus spoke on different occasions about how you can receive eleventh hour miracles if you so positioned yourself. Out of the twenty four hours in a day, Jesus  expects us to work for twelve hours figuratively speaking. _Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world._ (John 11:9). *Work is to be done during your day time, by the time your night comes, you will have no strength to work again.*  So, in Matthew 20, Jesus told us about those that were employed to work for a full day's wage. They were to work from 6am to 6pm. Some  started the work at exactly 6am. Some were called in by 9am, some by 12 noon and some by 3pm. When it was 5pm, the employer discovered  some workers whom he employed, Invariably, had only wor...

I WILL STRENGTHEN YOU.

Text: Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. One of the things the Lord will be doing for you in the year 2024 is to strengthen you.  Many who do not know the Lord shall be fainting in the year 2024, that's the reason you must promptly establish your position on the Lord's side before this year runs to an end. (Isaiah 13:7). In the year 2024, you must daily wait on the Lord and trust in Him so He might give you power and strength to accomplish all the good things He has put in your heart. Prophet Isaiah prophesied that the Lord gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. And that, even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.(Isaiah 40:29-31). To...

FEAR NOT

Text :  Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. By now, many prophecies are flying around about what the year 2024 would look like. While every human desires to know what the future holds for them, God wants His children to be well established in Him without fear of what their tommorrow will look like. Whatever the prophecies or predictions (be it good, bad, true or false) for the year 2024 may be, the first thing the Lord is assuring you as His child is, "Fear Not". You must be well established in this comforting words from the Lord. There are too many frightening and heartbreaking occurrences around the globe as of now, and more are still coming. Hence, the Lord has gone ahead of time to instruct your heart not to fear. As a true child of God, the presence of the Lord is with you, hence you need not be afraid. The Lord is saying to you even as y...

GRATITUDE-2

Text :  Psalms 92:1.  It is good to give thanks to the LORD   and to sing praise to your name, Most High  The second verse of our study text (Psalms 92:2) revealed what the content of your gratitude (thanks and praises) should be. Your gratitude should be showing forth God's lovingkindness in the morning, and His faithfulness every night. Each morning you wake up from your bed, you wake up with brand new loads of God's  lovingkindness (compassion). The book of Lamentations 3:22 says, "It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning...." One major reason for which your mouth should be full of thanksgiving each morning, is because God's mercies has kept you from being consumed all through  the night.  *God's mercies and compassions over your life is inexhaustible.* Hence, you must always give God thanks and praise for this.  One wisest thing you may need to do for the remaining ...

GRATITUDE

Text :  Psalms 92:1.  It is good to give thanks to the LORD   and to sing praise to your name, Most High.  *Gratitude is a great attitude that every well-meaning individual must cultivate.*  A wise man once said, when you are thankful,  your tank will be full. You can never go wrong with thanksgiving.  When you are thankful for anything done to you, you have only opened the door of receiving more to yourself.  Inherent in every fallen man is ingratitude. This is why Psalms 103:2 says Bless the LORD, my soul,   and never forget any of his benefits: There's high tendency in man to forget the good done to him and yet retain the memories of the bad done against him.  As this year is running to a close, you should take time to take stock  of God's blessings over your life. Don't fall into the temptation of murmuring against God because of what you think He is yet to do for you. Be grateful for what you have, and for who He has ...

KING OF KINGS

Text : Matthew 2:2. “Where is the one who was born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.” Herod was the sitting king when Jesus was born. Naturally, the birth of another king was a threat to him and his throne. When King Herod heard this, he was disturbed, as was all of Jerusalem. (Matthew 2:3). Before you encountered Jesus, there were powers (forces) reigning in your life as king, they know beyond doubt that the presence of Jesus in your life will dethrone them, so they will do everything to make you loose what you have. BEWARE!!! King Herod planned to kill Jesus, but hear what he told the wise men, He told them; “As you go, search carefully for the child. When you find him, tell me so that I, too, may go and worship him.” Matthew 2:8.  *If the enemy introduced himself to you as enemy and told you he's out to kill you, you'll obviously keep your distance, but the real enemies are those that came as friends.*  However,  the King of ki...

WISE MEN

Text : Matthew  2:1   Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem.    Obviously, there was no car as at the time Jesus was born, their major means of transportation was by feet or on camels. According to bible scholars,  the distance between Bethlehem where Jesus was born and the east where the visiting wise men came from was about 400 miles.  Invariably, it took these wise men three weeks journey or more (if they travelled on camels) just so they can pay homage to the new born king. Yet people that lived in the same town with Him did not even know that a king was born.  Just like in the days of the Magi, *it takes only wise men to know that a king was born, and it takes only wise men to worship Him.*  The birth of Jesus was prophesied long before He came, many were actually expecting Him in Isreal at that time, yet, when He came, they didn't recognise Hi...

HIDE IT!

Text :  Psalms  119:11   Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. When you hide His words in your heart, He will hide you under the shadow of His wings. When you fail to hide His words in your heart, you will freely sin against Him. Hiding God's words in your heart doesn't come naturally,  you have to intentionally work towards it. The first step to hiding God's word in your heart is to read it daily.  *Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.* (Revelation  1:3). You can't keep what you don't have. To keep God's word, you must first of all become a reader of the word. Secondly,  you are to meditate on what you have read.  _This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but *thou shalt meditate therein day and night,* that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then t...

LIVING FOR HIS PLEASURE IN GOOD HEALTH

Text :  Revelation 4:11  Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Today, we shall be considering how God's pleasure prospered in the hand of Jesus, and the import of this in your own life.  Isaiah 53:10 says that it has pleased the LORD to bruise Him (Jesus); He has put Him (Jesus) to grief. When God made His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. God was so pleased to see Jesus Christ carry your sin, sickness, diseses, poverty and curse upon Himself. This is so that your sound and perfect health, could give God pleasure in turn. (Isaiah 53:5, Galatians 3:13) Jesus was despised and rejected of men; He was a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief (sickness). He took all these upon Himself so that you can live in peace and be in good health (spirit, soul and body). (Isaiah 53:...

LIVING FOR HIS PLEASURE-2

Text :  Revelation 4:11  Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Our Bible reading (Isaiah 53) reflects how God's pleasure prospered in the life and ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Our Lord Jesus Christ lived his whole life on earth to please God. He showed us an example of how God's pleasure can prosper in our lives.  He said in John  8:29  _"And he that sent me is with me: the Father has not left me alone; *for I do always those things that please him.*_  This is one of the reasons God is always pleased with Jesus- He always do things that please God. In the same way, when you start living in such a way that pleases God, He will also be well pleased with you. (Mathew 3:17).    *To Please God is to give God pleasure.*  When God is being glorified in and through your life, home, business, career or ministry, then you are giving H...

LIVING FOR HIS PLEASURE

Text :  Revelation 4:11  Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Everything in heaven and on earth were created for God's pleasure, and any of His creature or creation that ceases to give Him pleasure shall seize to radiate His glory. Our God is a God of pleasure Himself. When you think of the various forms of pleasures He has created for man to enjoy, then you should know that He knows what pleasure really means. Hence, He wants to continually receive ceaseless flow of pleasure from all His creations and creatures, especially man. Imagine a manufacturer who has produced a car for the purpose of his   comfort, mobility and pleasure. One day, the manufacturer picks up his car key to travel a 100km journey. He starts the car and embarks on his journey. While on the journey, the car decides to stop and tell the manufacturer "I'm no longer willing to continue the jou...

ADULTHOOD

Text :  1 Corinthians  13:11   When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. There are things a child will say or do and goes scot-free, but if adult should try same, he will face the consequences. Adulthood comes with responsibility.*  Many young fellas want to be accorded the respect of adulthood, but they are not willing to shoulder the responsibilities that come along with being adults. A responsible adult is anyone who has learnt how to deprive himself in order to achieve a set goal.  As you mature in the spirit,  you must learn to put away childish things, and be ready to take up responsibilities.  When Moses became a man he proved it with the choices he made in life. By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures ...

CHILDHOOD 2

Text :  1 John  2:1   My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: One of the things that a baby's life is characterised with is dirtiness. A baby can crawl to a dirty place, get himself and his clothes dirty without any form of shame or concern whatsoever.  The same is true for a babe in Christ. A babe in Christ is anyone that wallows in sin and feels little or no remorse about it. They take pride in unforgiveness, malice, bitterness, jealousy, backbiting, laziness and the likes. This is why the first instruction from our text reads, 'my little children,  I write unto you that you sin not. 2Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." Now that you are in Christ, you must do away with old things. These old things are well stipulated in Colossians chapte...

CHILDHOOD

Text :  1 John  2:1   My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:  *A baby is not expected to remain a baby forever. The beauty of babies is their steady growth.*  In the physical,  a five year old will no longer be referred to as baby but a child. If after five years, the child is still wearing diapers, unable to walk, unable to talk and not capable of eating adult food, the parents already know that it's a full blown problem that needs not just medical attention but spiritual intervention as well. How come we don't view a five year old in the Spirit who is still behaving like a baby with the same sense of urgent spiritual attention and intervention.  How old are you in the Spirit? Since when have you given your life to Jesus? Do you still consider yourself a babe in Christ or a child of God. As a child of God, are you still wearing diaper...

BABYHOOD

Text :  1 Peter 2:2.  Like newborn babies, thirst for the pure milk of the word so that by it you may grow in your salvation. No one is born a full grown human. They are born babies, and then they grow up. Similarly, *no one is born a full grown Christian. You are born a spiritual baby, and then you grow up.*  There is a striking similarities between physical development and spiritual development. Everyone is given birth to physically (first birth) and every child of God is given birth to spiritually (second birth). Everyone on earth experienced the first birth, but not everyone has experienced the second birth. That you go to church or that you are a leader in the church doesn't mean you have experienced the second birth. John 3:6 says,  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. So, until you are born of the Spirit, you have not experienced the second birth.  Regardless of your age in the physical,  the momen...

REJOICE-3

Text :Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! While our Bible reading (Philippians 4:1-8) highlighted that praying with thanksgiving will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus;  Rejoicing will not ensue until you cooperate in certain ways with the Holy Spirit.  We shall continue to look at the  narratives today. Once God's peace has guarded your mind and heart, then God's Joy will be all yours and it will keep growing on a progressive note as you continually observe Philippians 4:8:  _"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things areof good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things._   *What you meditate on will go a long way in determining whether or not you are able to keep your Joy.*   *The real work behind your deliverance from worries a...

REJOICE-2

Text :Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! While the devil is working tirelessly to take away your Joy, and keep you from rejoicing, you must stand and stay alert to ensure that no circumstance or force takes away your Joy.  Just as we established yesterday; you must actively participate with the Holy Spirit in order to continually experience the fruit of Joy in your life. We shall be looking closely into our study  text to unearth the pathway to lasting Joy. Firstly, you must learn how to calm your heart in obeying the simple command of Jesus which says, "...do not worry about your life..." (Mathew 6:25). The Lord, through Apostle Paul, also reiterated this truth in Philippians 4:6, wherein he says, "...be anxious for nothing..." It is good to note that at no point in time did God's word ever ask you to be careful or worried about anything. Knowing this truth, should help keep you in Peace of mind and Joy forevermore.   Secondl...

REJOICE

Text :Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! The New Living Translation version renders our text thus: 'Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!'  'Rejoice' is more like the verb for the Noun-'Joy'.  So, to rejoice is to have or to experience the feel of joy.  Now, the scripture, more like an instruction, is asking you to Rejoice in the Lord at all times. Hence, we can safely say that Joy will not always drop on your laps if you are not actively working it out through personal cooperation with the Holy Spirit.  Though, Joy is a fruit of the Spirit, yet the fruit will not pluck itself from the tree without the effort of a farmer or harvester. Hence, you are always a contributor to your own Joy. (Galatians 5:22). In this generation,  there is an alarming  increase of suicidal attempts, depression,  'seasonal affective disorder' (SAD), and mood swings among believers, especially the young folks. The only a...
