Text : Psalms 92:1.
It is good to give thanks to the LORD and to sing praise to your name, Most High.
*Gratitude is a great attitude that every well-meaning individual must cultivate.*
A wise man once said, when you are thankful, your tank will be full.
You can never go wrong with thanksgiving. When you are thankful for anything done to you, you have only opened the door of receiving more to yourself.
Inherent in every fallen man is ingratitude. This is why Psalms 103:2 says Bless the LORD, my soul, and never forget any of his benefits:
There's high tendency in man to forget the good done to him and yet retain the memories of the bad done against him.
As this year is running to a close, you should take time to take stock of God's blessings over your life. Don't fall into the temptation of murmuring against God because of what you think He is yet to do for you. Be grateful for what you have, and for who He has made you to be.
Philippians 4:6 says *Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.* That is, let all your requests from now on be laced with thanksgiving.
The Isrealites forgot the goodness of God over their lives in the land of Egypt. They forgot how God exempted them from all the evil that plagued the Egyptians.
They forgot how He parted the red sea on their behalf. They totally forgot all of His benefits over their lives.
Instead of showing appreciation to God and tendering their requests to Him with the heart of thanksgiving, they chose to murmur and complain. Well, you know the story, this led to the death of many of them. Numbers 21:4-9.
*Ingratitude is not just a habit that you should avoid, it's a sin that you should stop committing. (2* Timothy 3:2) tells us expressly that ingratitude is one of the signs of the end time. Don't let it catch up with you.
Note that when you are grateful to God, you will know how to be grateful to man and vice versa.
Let gratitude be your attitude. Think about the good someone has done to you in the past and show your gratitude to God and that person. It pays to be thankful.
