TODAY

TEXT.  Hebrews  3:13

But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin .

TODAY is the only day in your lifetime that you always have to make the right decision; yesterday is gone, and tommorrow is God's.* 

God's word encourages us to exhort one another daily.  The reason for  daily exhortation is to prevent the hearers from being  hardened through the deceitfuness of sins.

New Living Translation renders the text thus:

 _*You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God Heb. 3-13*_ .

 *Sin has the capacity to deceive you and harden your heart against God. Watch it!* Today always come with the opportuniy to hear God's Voice. "Today" is the time frame in which the Voice of God is being heard for a walk in obedience. Your "Today" comes with a  command (voice) for you to obey.  *To miss God's voice(command) would mean missing entrance into your Rest and Inheritance.* Take heed how you hear.  Hebrew 4:7-10, Heb 12:7

The Israelites missed the opportunity to obey the voice of God  in their own  "Today". They provoked  God  ( His Voice) through unbelief leading to disobedience. 

Hebrews 3:15-16 Says _While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses._ 

So, anytime anyone is deceived by the deceitfulness of sin, such  heart becomes hardened, and when the heart is hardened, God's voice will be rejected. When God's voice is rejected, provocation sets in.

Are you hearing God's voice Today? Please do not harden your heart. Don't allow Sin to destroy you and cheat you of your inheritance in Christ

 *When you hear an instruction from God's word, when you are pricked in your heart, when you are convicted, when you are confronted with the truth: Those are the times you are hearing His Voice 

"Today".  If you are in the habit of  not responding (in obedience)  to the nudges and still small voice in your conscience,  you are being lured by deceitfulness of sin.  And this shall lead to hardened heart unto God.* 

God's Grace is available TODAY. It is never too late for you to retrace your steps back to the Lord or to start a fresh  journey with your Saviour TODAY.

PRAYING MEN

Text : 1Timothy 2:8. I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. God gave explicit instructions to all of His children as to how we must live our lives. Some of these instructions cut across boards, of which all of God's children must obey. However, there are some instructions that are specific to gender or portfolios. We we'll be looking at some of these instructions today.  *THE MEN* From our text, there are two distinct responsibilities God wants men to undertake, and the two are intertwined. First, God wants men to pray. The word  'men' as used in our text is not generic as to mean all human beings. It is specifically requesting that all men should pray. Yes, God expects every of His children to pray, but He specifically called men out here.  A number of times,  when prayer meetings are called, the proportion of women in attendance always outnumbered men. This is because the devil knows the import of praying men.

Text: 1 Kings 19:12 "...and after the earthquake a fire, [but] the LORD [was] not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice" Prophet Elijah fled after he received the life threatening message from Jezebel, the wife of King Ahab, because he didn't keep himself calm before the Lord.  *Endeavouring to listen to God in difficult times is a major prerequisite to your deliverance.*  Are you faced with a life threatening situation like Prophet Elijah, the first and most important thing you need to do is: "Set yourself before the Lord for His still small voice."  *"You will be saved from many unwarranted troubles if only you will always maintain your calm before the Lord and listen to Him."*  After Prophet Elijah heard the still small voice, then the Lord asked him, "What are you doing here?"
