GIVING 2

Text:Luke 6:38

*Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.*

The earth runs on the principle of Sowing and Reaping; Giving and Receiving. The Lord said to  Noah in Genesis 8:22 that while the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest....shall not cease. The seedtime is the giving time, the harvest is the time of receiving.

Our text made it clear that when you give, it shall be given unto you in:

1. *Good measure:* *You must choose to be more intentional about what and how you give, for there shall be repayment in good measure.* When you give forgiveness to others, you get forgiveness in good measure from the Lord. When you give mercy to others, you get mercy back from the Lord in good measure. When you like judging and condemning your neighbours and brethren, you also get judged and condemned.

*One of the biggest temptations of Pastors and Preachers today is not sex, money or women. It is about satisfying the greedy appetite of a "give me-give me" congregation.* A  huge number of multitude in the church today aren't looking for God. They aren't true worshippers that are willing to give to the Lord.

Bad enough, some seek the Lord for His things, but the worse situation we are in today, is that people are now seekers of God's things for their own selfish reasons. 2Timothy 3:2.

Many are only concerned about receiving from the Lord, having sown nothing or wrong seed. They want to live as they like, do whatever they like  and expect God to bless them all the same.

" *Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap"* Galatians 6:7.

*2.Pressed Down:* Every seed sown into the ground first goes down. By the time it comes up, it will produce fruit for the sower. This fruit will by all means surpass the seed sown. That's exactly the case with your seed sown (in character), be it good or bad. You will always  receive your harvest in a pressed down measure, so be careful what you sow.

*3. Shaken together:*  This is the time you begin to feel the impact of what you sow or give.

*4. Running Over* : At this point, your Giving(sowing)starts yielding.  Everyone  shall see the overflowing results of what you have sown or givien into the ground(of other lives) .

*All men are like the ground, you will surely reap whatever seed you sow into their lives.*

Bible Reading: Luke 6:31-38.

 *PRAYER POINT*

1. Father Lord, help me to be more intentional and careful im what and how I give to you and to my fellow humans.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
