HIS VOICE

Text : John 10:3.

*To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.*

*One thing that differentiates the sheep from the goats is that the sheep hear His  voice. Whose voice are you hearing?* If you are a member of the sheepfold, you will hear His voice.

The truth is everyone is hearing voices.  If you are not hearing the voice of the Shepherd,  you are hearing the voice of strangers. And strangers here could range from your friends to your enemies.

Whose voice are you hearing? Whose voice are you listening to? Man will go in the direction of what he hears. That's why Romans 10:17 says faith comes by hearing and hearing...

It is typical of Jesus to liken His disciples (followers) to sheep while those who refused to follow are regarded as goats.  Infact,  even when He was talking about judging the nations at the end of all things, He still used the same analogy .

“` ```When the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels are with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be assembled in front of him, and he will cull them out, one from another, like a shepherd separates sheep from goats.``` Mat 25:31- 32.

The Shepherd has two responsibilities over the sheep ;
1. *He calls them* : To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: *and he calleth his own sheep by name* , and leadeth them out. John  10:3.
It is the duty of the Shepherd to call, but it is your duty to hear and to harken. He is calling your name right now. *Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts,* Hebrews  3:15 .

Jesus emphatically says in  John 10:11 that " ```I’m the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."``
The good Shepherd is calling out for you today. His voice is ringing out to you through this Devotional, please, respond to Him.

*Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.* Revelation  3:20

Nb
Tomorrow we shall look at the other responsibility of the Shepherd towards His sheep.

 *BIBLE READING* : John 10: 1-18.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Lord, help me to hear your voice whenever you call and give me grace to harken.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
