BACK TO THE MAKER

Text : John 6:37.

*All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.*

Some years back, our LG television developed fault and started malfunctioning. Our neighbor got wind of it and introduced us to a "good technician."

We took the TV to the guy, paid him service charge and was told to come back for it few days later. Long story short, the TV moved from bad to worse after the guy worked on it.

Since it was obvious we couldn't use it in that condition, we were told to pay more money so he can do a better job on it.

Well,  it turned out that the condition of the TV moved again from worse to worst, yet the guy still promised to fix it, if only we can pay more.

It was at this time we came to our senses(my spouse and I). We decided to take the TV back to the LG office, something we were reluctant to do initially because of petty excuses.

We eventually took the TV back to "her" maker who got it fixed as good as new without paying a dime.

While driving back home that day,  God taught me some life lessons which I'll like to share with you :

1. Just like the TV, man too has manufacturer, maker - the God Almighty. *You didn't just come into existence, God brought you forth,He is not just God of the universe, He is your maker.*

*When you refused to acknowledge God as your source, you deprive yourself access to everlasting and eternal life.*

_Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture_ .Psa 100:3.

2. Just like the TV, man was corrupted along the line. And man needs fixing.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Rom 3:23.

3. Instead of returning back to the maker,  man has resolved to consult the creatures rather than the creator.

*No human effort can deliver man from corruption of the soul other than Christ.  _Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved* .Act 4:12_ .

However, we are confident and grateful that our maker is always ready to pardon and to restore if only you return to him.

_And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.Act 2:21_ .

2Ch 7:14 gives us game plan of how to go back to our maker :

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
