REAL LABOUR

Text : John 6:27

 *Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.* 

The Amplified version of the Bible rendered the text explicitly as follows:

 _Stop toiling and doing and producing for the food that perishes and decomposes [in the using], but strive and work and produce rather for the [lasting] food which endures [continually] unto life eternal; the Son of Man will give (furnish) you that, for God the Father has authorized and certified Him and put His seal of endorsement upon Him_ .

 *It is simply foolishness when you labour for the perishables( vanities) at the expense of the non-perishables(life eternal)*

Jesus warned the people following Him because of loaves of bread to desist from such. This means that *Jesus's utmost desire for you is to follow Him for WHO He is and not for WHAT He is.* So many in the church today are only following Jesus for what they are expecting to collect. They are only collectors. They are so eager to "use" God to achieve their own goals and ambitions. All they have is need and want for themselves. They are never concerned about the Father's Need. They have forgotten that before Jesus could talk about "Give us our daily bread", He first of all talked about the Father's will being done on earth. (Luke 11:2-3).

If I may ask, why are you following Jesus?

Why are you so excited about Him(if at all you are)?

 *If you are able to sincerely answer the "WHY" of your following Jesus, you will be able to know if you are simply following Him for WHO He is or for WHAT you can get from Him.*

Jesus has not chosen you that you might remain a child forever, always asking only for candies and toys. Such only know how to ask: "Daddy, what will you buy for me today?" They don't know how to ask: "Daddy what will you have me do for you today?" John 15:16.

Stop being an irresponsible child of God, Grow up and take your place as a Son/ daughter of the Most High who knows how to labour for the non- perishable meat.

 *REAL LABOUR IS GEARED TOWARDS ETERNAL LIFE, ANYTHING SHORT OF THIS IS NOT WORTH IT.* 

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Lord, help me to start labouring for the meat that does not perish.

2. Lord, help me to value the labour for the eternal things more than the labour for the perishables.

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. WHEN GOD IS SILENT(2)

Text: Matthew 4:1  *Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.*  We saw yesterday that God was not pleased with many israelites that left Egypt for the promised land  (Corinthians 10:5).  A good percentage of the Israelites were overthrown in the wilderness.   Wilderness experience is not what any child of God desires, but it is an experience God sends or allows his children go through. In Deuteronomy 8:2, God says that He *LED* the Isrealites through the wilderness for forty years to humble them, to prove them, and to know what was in their heart whether they would keep his commandments or not.  Our Lord Jesus Christ was also *LED* into the wilderness by the Spirit of the Lord to be tempted by the devil.
