MERCY AND GRACE

Text : Heb 4:16

*Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.*

Mercy and Grace are two spiritual elements that all disciples of Jesus need in order to lead a successful Christian journey in this side of eternity.

Now, these two elements are spiritual commodities which cannot be gotten on earth. *The only place you can obtain Mercy and Grace is at the throne of Grace.* To approach the throne of Grace however, you need boldness. No man has within himself this kind of boldness in approaching the throne of God except through Jesus Christ.

This is why the verse opens with "let us therefore come..... " the word 'therefore' connotes that it was referring to something previously stated. So it's important we see the verse(s) before this our text:

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Heb. 4:14-15.

So it is clear that the reason we can boldly approach the throne of Grace is :

1. We have a high Priest who have passed from earth into heavens, the man Jesus Christ.

2. This our High priest understands our estate and frame because He was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

That is, *you can boldly approach the throne of Grace because you know you have an advocate there who is always pleading on your behalf.*

Also, you must always remember that *your goal for approaching the throne of Grace is to OBTAIN MERCY AND FIND GRACE, Don't leave until you have gotten the two.*

That the time of need will come is not a probability, it's a certainty. It is wisdom to rightly equip yourself before the time comes

*The right time to prepare for a battle is before the battle comes. Run to the throne of Grace now so you can be aptly helped in time of need.*

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Lord, thank you for always pleading my case.

2. Give me the wisdom to always run to the throne of Grace so I may always obtains Mercy and Grace.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

DECEITFULNESS OF SIN 2

TEXT. Hebrews 3:13  *But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin* .  *While deceit is a sin, Sin itself is deceitful.* Sin has the capacity to lure a man to do stuffs. *One of the major vices of the devil is to make sin appear attractive and unharmfult.* If Eve could see what the consequences of eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil would be, she would have resisted the deception of the man of sin. She was simply deceived.Gen, 3:6 While it is no news that all sinners are already condemned to deceitfulness of sin, it is sad to know that many children of God (like Adam and Eve), are being easily deceived by Sin. See the case of Ananias and Sapphira, Acts 5:1-13. Many Christians today are still playing the same game of smartness this couple played. I call it smartness because that was what they thought they were doing. While they thought they were smart, Peter knew that Satan h...
