AT YOUR WITS END?(2)

Text : Luke 5:5

And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net_*

Peter, having toiled for the whole night without a catch still finds grace to allow Jesus use his ship for the work of ministry.

And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.(Luke 5:3 )

Though Peter was at his wits end, yet he did not deny Jesus the privilege of using his ship as a platform for reaching out to others. Sometimes, when you are at your wits end, it is possible you become distorted and disoriented.

At the time Peter allowed the Lord to use his vessel(ship), he had not known so much about Him. At least he did not know that the Lord could miraculously help him catch multitude of fishes to a net-breaking point.

You may as well need to give the Lord a space in your vessel(life) to use you as a platform for His work and glory in the lives of others. Although you may be at your wits end, yet the Lord would have you allow Him use you.

A frustrated man, who had toiled all through the night pushed his own problems aside and pushed the ship a little from the land for Jesus to gain a better positioning with His audience. Peter while at his wits end still gladens the heart of the Lord. Such is also the demand of the Lord from you today.

Our Lord is not a user. Little did Peter knew that Jesus is more interested in Him than the platform he gave Him.

_Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, *Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught* ._ Luke 5:4

Peter retorted and said ",......Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net"

Peter, despite his toiling all through the night still believed the Word of Jesus. He tried again at the His word.

He simply obeyed!

Take a clue from this simple fisherman. Give Jesus a space in your life, regardless of your prevailing situation *and learn to lean on His every word.*

Bible reading: Luke 5:1-10

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Tell the Lord to help you in your time of need.

2.Ask the Lord to strengthen you to trust Him even in difficult times.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

DECEITFULNESS OF SIN 2

TEXT. Hebrews 3:13  *But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin* .  *While deceit is a sin, Sin itself is deceitful.* Sin has the capacity to lure a man to do stuffs. *One of the major vices of the devil is to make sin appear attractive and unharmfult.* If Eve could see what the consequences of eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil would be, she would have resisted the deception of the man of sin. She was simply deceived.Gen, 3:6 While it is no news that all sinners are already condemned to deceitfulness of sin, it is sad to know that many children of God (like Adam and Eve), are being easily deceived by Sin. See the case of Ananias and Sapphira, Acts 5:1-13. Many Christians today are still playing the same game of smartness this couple played. I call it smartness because that was what they thought they were doing. While they thought they were smart, Peter knew that Satan h...
