THANKSGIVING

Text : Psa 92:1 KJV

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:

It is a good thing to start the year on a good note. One of these good things as slated in the scriptures is THANKSGIVING.

IT IS A GOOD THING TO GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD.. psalms 92:1.

Invariably, it is a bad thing not to give thanks unto the Lord. Let Thanksgiving be your attitude all through this year.

In case you do not know what this entails, the rest of the verses of this chapter aptly spelt it all out:

1.) To give thanks is to sing praises unto His name. Ps 92:1b. You can never go wrong in this.

2.) To give thanks is to

proclaim His gracious love in the morning and His faithfulness at night. Psa 92:2. Thanksgiving is not a one-off event it is a lifestyle. Do it morning and night and your life will be decorated with flourishing goodness. Ps. 92:12.

3.) To give thanks is to make music to Him upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.Psalm 92:3.

*Let everything within you give Him praise for He is good and His mercies endures forever. Ps 136:1*

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1.) father, please fill my heart with Joy unspeakable and my mouth with praises.

2.) Father, cause me to be planted in your house that I may flourish even in old age. Ps 92:12-14.

Bible reading: Psalms 136;1-26.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
