THE GOOD TIDINGS

Text : Luke 2:10.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

Though the handwriting is big on the wall, yet there's need to sound the trumpet so loud over and over again about the reason for the season. Year in year out, people celebrate Christmas which actually is the celebration of the birth of Jesus. But are we really celebrating Christ?

The angels who heralded the news about the birth of Jesus proclaimed that Jesus is *GOOD TIDINGS* of *GREAT JOY* and this shall be to *ALL PEOPLE.* Luke 2:10.

You are included in that 'ALL PEOPLE'. Have you received the good tidings? The good tidings is summarised in John 3:16.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,a but have everlasting life.

God demonstrates his love for us by the fact that the Messiah died for us while we were still sinners. Rom. 5:9.

The love of God is fully expressed towards us in Christ Jesus. This is the good tidings. If this did not culminates into great Joy in you, it simply shows that you have not received the good tidings.

*Jesus is the only source of true Joy. Let His joy continually fill your heart.*

*Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.Phi 4:4*

Bible reading: Luke 2:8-20.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
