FEAR NOT THE WIND-2*

Text : Matthew 14:30  *But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.*  In this year, the Lord would have you look away from the wind that will be blowing around you and focus on Him alone. The wind stands for all the  challenges, difficulties, distractions and fears that may come your way this year. *You must be intensely focused on Jesus to the extent that you will completely lose sight of the boisterous wind.* After Jesus had told His disciples not to be afraid, Peter requested that He should command him to come meet Him on the water. Jesus responded to Peter, "come".  As Peter stepped out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus, but when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid and he started sinking. (Mathew 14:28-30). It is worthy to note that Peter actually did walked on water for a while before he started sinking. Your eyes cannot be on Jesus and on your  problems at the sa...

FEAR NOT THE WIND

Text : Matthew 14:30  But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. Our Lord Jesus, having separated Himself from His disciples (to pray on the mountain),  decided to catch up with them while they were still on  the sea.  The scripture recorded that Jesus went to them, walking on the sea in the fourth watch of the night (Matthew 14:25). Having not seen Jesus in this kind of display before, the disciples were so afraid, and they concluded that it was a ghost walking on the water. And they all made such remarks with great fear. ( Mathew 14:26). In response, the Lord Jesus made a very remarkable statement which must be your watchword all through this year. He said to them, "Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid". Just behind the veil of the fear that is intimidating and threatening your life is the LORD. *If only you can see beyond the fear, you will certainly see and hear the Lord saying to you, "Fear Not...

THE JOURNEY 2

Text : 1 Peter 2:11.  Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;  My family and I have been on missionary journey for some years now. We have to move from place to place. Whenever we get to a new place, we try as much as possible to buy only the needful, knowing well that we have to leave everything behind probably after a few years and move on again. We constantly remind ourselves how we need to travel light, because we are conscious of the fact that we are on a journey. In the same manner, believers are meant to travel light on this side of eternity in order not to be encumbered on their journey.  One terrible thing the devil has done to believers is to make them settle down here (on earth) as though this is our final destination.  No one goes to the market to build an edifice where he and his family will be living. No! People go to markets to  transact, buy or sell and they go back home. *T...

THE JOURNEY

Text : 1Peter 2:11.  Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;  *If you are a child of God, then, you are a stranger here on earth. This place is not your permanent abode, you are on a journey, always live in the consciousness of this.*  You must constantly remind yourself that you are a stranger here on earth,  a temporary resident whose true home is with God in heaven. Everyday is a step further in the journey of life that should take you back to God. God has given everyone who comes to this earth his life time to journey back to Him.  This new year is offering you another opportunity to press in on this journey of becoming more like the Christ.  There are many things waging war against your journey back to God. To make it home successfully,  you are to be on your guard. One way to be on your guard is to abstain from fleshly lusts- desires of the flesh. Romans 13:14 says ... *put ...

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Text : Exodus 12:2.  “This month will mark the beginning of months for you. It will be the first month of the year for you. All over the world, people are shouting *HAPPY NEW YEAR* around this time. We are greatful to God who made it possible for you to make it into this new year.  Beautiful as this may be, nothing will be new in the year if you continue to do 'business as usual.' By man's calender, yesterday was last year, and in the next 365 days we will be talking of another new year. Yet, *if you continue to do business as usual,  nothing will be new, they can only get older.*  The Isrealites cut a covenant with God some years back, which is known till today as the passover - the day the angel of death that passed through the land of Egypt passed them over by reason of the blood. That day became the beginning of a new year for the Isrealites even though the event took place within the middle of the year. Everything became new for the Isrealites by reason of the c...

ELEVENTH HOUR

Text :  Matthew 20:6 And about the eleventh hour he went out and saw others doing nothing; and he says to them, Why are you here all the day doing nothing? Jesus spoke on different occasions about how you can receive eleventh hour miracles if you so positioned yourself. Out of the twenty four hours in a day, Jesus  expects us to work for twelve hours figuratively speaking. _Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world._ (John 11:9). *Work is to be done during your day time, by the time your night comes, you will have no strength to work again.*  So, in Matthew 20, Jesus told us about those that were employed to work for a full day's wage. They were to work from 6am to 6pm. Some  started the work at exactly 6am. Some were called in by 9am, some by 12 noon and some by 3pm. When it was 5pm, the employer discovered  some workers whom he employed, Invariably, had only wor...

I WILL STRENGTHEN YOU.

Text: Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. One of the things the Lord will be doing for you in the year 2024 is to strengthen you.  Many who do not know the Lord shall be fainting in the year 2024, that's the reason you must promptly establish your position on the Lord's side before this year runs to an end. (Isaiah 13:7). In the year 2024, you must daily wait on the Lord and trust in Him so He might give you power and strength to accomplish all the good things He has put in your heart. Prophet Isaiah prophesied that the Lord gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. And that, even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.(Isaiah 40:29-31). To...
