FEAR NOT THE WIND

Text : Matthew 14:30 

But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

Our Lord Jesus, having separated Himself from His disciples (to pray on the mountain),  decided to catch up with them while they were still on  the sea. 
The scripture recorded that Jesus went to them, walking on the sea in the fourth watch of the night (Matthew 14:25).

Having not seen Jesus in this kind of display before, the disciples were so afraid, and they concluded that it was a ghost walking on the water. And they all made such remarks with great fear. ( Mathew 14:26).

In response, the Lord Jesus made a very remarkable statement which must be your watchword all through this year. He said to them, "Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid".

Just behind the veil of the fear that is intimidating and threatening your life is the LORD. *If only you can see beyond the fear, you will certainly see and hear the Lord saying to you, "Fear Not, I am with you"* (Isaiah 41:10).

You must be rest assured that God is very much interested in allaying fears in your life this year. You must neither be afraid of anything, nor must you allow fear to rule your heart in this year, except the fear of the Lord.

God does not take pleasure in seeing His children live in fear. Hence, whenever His presence or that of His angels appear to man, they more often than not would say "Fear Not." Though God is a fearful being, yet He is not willing to let His children live under the bond of fear. 

May the spirit of Love, power and sound mind that God has given unto you keep you away from every spirit of fear in Jesus name. (2Timothy 1:7).

PRAYER FOCUS

1.) The Lord has not given me the spirit of fear, therefore I declare that fear shall no longer have a rule over my life in the name of Jesus.

2.) Father Lord, deliver me from every fearful spirit in the name of Jesus.

WHEN GOD IS SILENT(2)

Text: Matthew 4:1  *Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.*  We saw yesterday that God was not pleased with many israelites that left Egypt for the promised land  (Corinthians 10:5).  A good percentage of the Israelites were overthrown in the wilderness.   Wilderness experience is not what any child of God desires, but it is an experience God sends or allows his children go through. In Deuteronomy 8:2, God says that He *LED* the Isrealites through the wilderness for forty years to humble them, to prove them, and to know what was in their heart whether they would keep his commandments or not.  Our Lord Jesus Christ was also *LED* into the wilderness by the Spirit of the Lord to be tempted by the devil. You will  notice there is a similar feature of the number *40(forty)* between these two wilderness experiences. That is, that of the Israelites and our Lord Jesus Christ. THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth.
