THE LAST DAYS

TEXT: 1 Timothy 4:1.

“Now the Spirit speaks expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.

The Spirit of God is speaking expressly, clearly, and specifically. The question is: Are you hearing clearly?

One of the unmistakable warnings about the last days is that many will abandon the faith. This departure from faith will not always be dramatic or sudden; sometimes it begins subtly, - a compromise here, a neglected prayer life there, a gradual tolerance for falsehood and so on.

*To ignore what the Spirit is saying is to place yourself at a spiritual disadvantage point.* When God warns, it is not to frighten you but to prepare and preserve you.

The first caution here is against abandoning your faith. Faith is not passive; it must be guarded and nurtured.

The Bible tells us in Jude 1:3 to “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” 'Contending' implies efforts, vigilance, and intentional defense.

Again, in 1 Timothy 6:12 we are exhorted to
“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life…” The essence of your fight is so you can lay hold on eternal life, never lose sight of that.

Good fight of faith is a fight,  not against people, but against deception, doubt, distractions, and spiritual complacency.

*If you are not alert, what you carry can slowly slip from your grasp.*

The second warning is against following deceitful spirits. Make no mistake, deception is real, subtle, and widespread. Not every voice that sounds spiritual is from God.

Not every teaching that is popular is truth or worth listening to. Discernment is crucial in these times.

There is no better time to heed the advice of Apostle John than now. It says,  *Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.* 1John 4:1.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

Father, in a world filled with deception and compromise, open my spiritual eyes and sharpen my discernment. Help me to hear your Spirit clearly and obey promptly in Jesus name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
