PROFIT OR LOSS? 2

TEXT : Matthew 16:26

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Our Lord Jesus did not answer the question He posed in the text, but it is always clear what the answer is.

Devil, being a liar always strive to ensure that man never come to the knowledge of the truth which sets free. John 8:32 & 44. *Devil's major exploit is  to see to it that, man will never place premium on his own soul in the same way the creator has.*

God did not send Jesus to this world to come save His creations like the sun, moon star, mountain, waters or the animals. But He sent Him to save the most precious thing to Him - The Soul of man.

Jesus came to save you and I,  so that when He returns, He will destroy every other thing that our sins have defiled in order to give us new ones.

What a loving God we serve. He gave  man a house, man messed it up, then he decided to save man, burn down the old house and build him a new one.

It is quite unfortunate that many still cling to the old house that is about to be destroyed. They refuse to leave the house(world and its system). They chose to rather gain the house which is about to be destroyed and loose their lives (souls).

Please do not try to gain this world. As you can see, the whole thing is growing old like a garment. 2 Peter 3:10-14.

*Let your pursuit be the salvation of your Soul, then you will gain the world to come; that is the only place where you can truly lay hold on things eternally and not in this present world.*

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Father God, I  receive the grace to seek you and your Kingdom with the whole of my life.

2. Help me Lord not to trade my soul for this present world.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

DECEITFULNESS OF SIN 2

TEXT. Hebrews 3:13  *But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin* .  *While deceit is a sin, Sin itself is deceitful.* Sin has the capacity to lure a man to do stuffs. *One of the major vices of the devil is to make sin appear attractive and unharmfult.* If Eve could see what the consequences of eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil would be, she would have resisted the deception of the man of sin. She was simply deceived.Gen, 3:6 While it is no news that all sinners are already condemned to deceitfulness of sin, it is sad to know that many children of God (like Adam and Eve), are being easily deceived by Sin. See the case of Ananias and Sapphira, Acts 5:1-13. Many Christians today are still playing the same game of smartness this couple played. I call it smartness because that was what they thought they were doing. While they thought they were smart, Peter knew that Satan h...
