THE WATER BROOK AND RAVEN

Text : 1 Kings 17:4. 

And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.

Elijah would have made the greatest mistake of his life, if he had assumed that the water brooks and the raven were his source and sustainer. 

It was God who instructed him to go to that particular water brook in the first place, and it was God who also commanded the ravens to feed him there.

Needless to say that the ravens are one of the most stingy animals known,  yet at the command of God, they were giving food to Elijah at a time when every creature had every reason to really be selfish. 

If your good is in the hands of someone, no matter how stingy or difficult he may be, God will command it out of him. God can even make your enemy to bless you, He is God after all. Proverbs 16:17. However, you must be careful not to make a god out of anyone.

Don't make the mistake of turning anyone or anything to your source, ultimately, your only source is God, He can only command men and things to bless you.

Even when God instructed you to get help from someone, don't turn them to your mini-God, don't always look up to them for your every need. God is the only true destiny helper, He only positioned people at different junctions of your life to be His hands and channel of blessings. 

Note that it is ungodly to be ungrateful to people who had helped you in one way or another. But being grateful is one thing, giving man the place of God is another.

Remember, by the time we get to verse seven of our Bible reading, the water brook had dried up.

God is the only source that can't run dry. He doesn't get tired of blessing you. He is more than enough, because He is unlimited.  

Don't forget to always remind yourself that God is your SOURCE.

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation.
