TEXT. Hebrews 3:13
*But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin* .
*While deceit is a sin, Sin itself is deceitful.* Sin has the capacity to lure a man to do stuffs. *One of the major vices of the devil is to make sin appear attractive and unharmfult.* If Eve could see what the consequences of eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil would be, she would have resisted the deception of the man of sin. She was simply deceived.Gen, 3:6
While it is no news that all sinners are already condemned to deceitfulness of sin, it is sad to know that many children of God (like Adam and Eve), are being easily deceived by Sin. See the case of Ananias and Sapphira, Acts 5:1-13. Many Christians today are still playing the same game of smartness this couple played. I call it smartness because that was what they thought they were doing. While they thought they were smart, Peter knew that Satan had filled their hearts.
_But Peter said, Ananias, *why hath Satan filled thine heart* to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?_ Acts 5:3
*Sometimes, you think you are playing smart with God, but little did you know that it is Satan that has just filled your heart like Ananias and Sapphira.* This couple were deceived by sin.
Are you being deceived by sin? You sometimes think and say: it doesn't matter after all. At this time your heart has become cold and hardened. At this time, you sin intentionally without any regret, needless to say repentance(2Cor.7:10&11). Your conscience no longer responds to the Holy Ghost.Though you pray, preach and counsel others but you know that you are dead in sin. Though, your hands are full and busy with church activities but your heart is empty and dry.
The reward and excitement of heaven is no longer real to you. The fear of Hell has suddenly disappeared from your heart.
There is Hope for you *Today*
Though, you have been caught in the web of deceitfulness of Sin, but God's Grace is available to deliver you.
Please, return to God *Today* . If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.1Jn 1:9.
