YOUR WORDS

Text : Mathew 12:37.

For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Words are powerful, but not many are living in the consciousness of its power.

Every war starts with words. Proverbs 15:1. Even the heaven and the earth were created by words.

Proverbs 18:21 says Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Expressly,  our text says your words (not God's) will be the reason you are either justified or condemned. Invariably, your fate is in your hands.

When Jesus was crucified, two thieves were equally nailed alongside our Lord. One on His right the other on the left.

They were both sentenced to death for the crimes they had committed, but by reason of their words, one was eternally condemned while the other received eternal pardon. Luke 23:43.

The question is,  what will it cost the other thief to simply say something good so he can be pardoned too?

Or let's assume he made a mistake with his initial utterance,  but after Jesus had promised the other criminal access to paradise,  what will it cost him to immediately beg for his place in paradise too?

Well, what will it cost you to say good things with your mouth? *What will it cost you to secure your justification by your words?*

The answer is very simple, your words are not just combinations of letters or syllables,  your words are functions of the content of your heart.

*A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.* (Mathew:12:35). Everyone speaks from the abundance of his heart.

Jesus Christ says   either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. (Matthew  12:33).

For you to speak words that can lead to your justification, your heart must be full of His words. Feed on the word and meditate on it.

This set of instructions is not to cease being a part of your conversations. Meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to carry out everything that’s written in it, for then you’ll prosper and succeed.(Joshua 1:8).

Bible Reading  : Luke 23:39-43.
