CONVERSION

Text : Luke 22:32

But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

The Lord said to Simon, 'Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: Luke 22:31.
Beloved, this information is not peculiar to Simon only, Satan still desires to have you too today, so he might sift you away.

Infact, Jesus told us expressly that  what He says unto one ,He says unto all, therefore Watch. Mark  13:37.

That you will be tempted by the devil is not a probability, it is certain. How well you prepare yourself for the day of temptation will determine the outcome. Proverbs  24:10 says, If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

That is, strength to overcome is garnered before the day of adversity comes, if victory is to be ascertained.

One sure way to garner this strength is through conversion. To be converted is to turn back to the Lord. Let's read our text again in Easy English Version.

‘But I have prayed for you, Simon, that you will continue to believe in me. And you, when you have turned back to me, you must help your brothers to be strong again.’

From this verse, it is clear, that Peter will slide back at a time, and that he will later turn back to Jesus. And we know that Peter actually played out this predictions.

It is okay to fall, but you must not stay fallen. When you fall, receive strength from the Lord to Rise up again and match on unto victory.

The problem with many Christians today is not that they have backslided, but that they chose to remain in their backsliding state.

Proverbs  24:16  says, For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. That is, both the just and the wicked are liable to fall. The difference is, if you were a just man before the fall, you will rise up again.

So Jesus told Peter,  the same way He is telling you now that when you are converted,  strengthen your brothers.

Beloved, don't put the horse before the cart, your own conversion must come before you can strengthen others. Don't go about portraying yourself as a worker in the church when you know you have not been converted.

Note that Peter had been with the Lord before he denied Jesus, and yet he was converted (returned back to the Lord) because mercy spoke for him. Mark 14:66-72.

It doesn't matter how long you have been a Christian  you can be converted today if you cry to Him for mercy.
