GET WISDOM

Text: Proverbs  4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Wisdom is the principal thing, hence, it is necessary for you to get wisdom. Life becomes worth living as we seek God's wisdom on a daily basis. Wisdom is available to anyone who truly and genuinely seeks it. The book of Proverbs says that _Wisdom calls aloud outside; She raises her voice in the open squares. She cries out in the chief concourses, At the openings of the gates in the city She speaks her words_ . (Proverbs 1:20-21). The above shows that wisdom can be accessed by you if only you would pay attention to her cry and voice.  There is no middle ground, you are either   responding to the call  of wisdom or you are responding to a life of folly. God's wisdom can be accessed through three major ways: 1. *Ask for it.*  The brother of our Lord Jesus Christ (in the flesh) wrote to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, saying, "if an...

WATCH OUT

Text : 1Kings 13:18 ISV  “ I’m a prophet like you,” the old man replied, “and an angel spoke to me and delivered this message from the LORD: ‘Bring him back with you to your house and give him food and water.’” But he was lying,  *If the devil appeared to you in his full regalia the way you have known him to be, you wouldn't have succumb to his advances. But he will always appear as agent of light. BEWARE. The deceivers that Jesus warned us about are not people of the world per- se, but people from the same household of faith. Matt:24:5. A man of God was sent to deliver a message to king Jeroboam. Against all odds, God confirmed His words in the mouth of His servant.  God however gave a clear instruction to this man of God which he obeyed.  When the king saw that he is a true prophet of God, he tried to offer  him a reward, but this man of God vehemently rejected the offer.  But the man of God replied to the king, “Even if you were to offer me half of your ...

STAY UNDER

Text : Genesis 16:9 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands. Everyone wants to be the boss, no one wants to stay under another, but there is much safety in staying under authority. To discern a leader amongst followers, is to identify a follower who can unconditionally stay under authority. A potential leader is a follower who has learnt to stay under authority. This is God's ordained pattern for His children. Hence, every leader is shouldered with the responsibility of leading according to God's desire. Great responsibility is on every leader, for they will give account for their leadership. From our text, Sarai complained to Abram about her maiden's (Hagar's) misbehaviour. Sarai was despised by Hagar simply because she had given Abram a Son (Ishmael).  Abram's response to Sarai showed a great respect and love for her as a wife. He replied,  "Behold, your maid is in your hand; do to her as it pleases ...

CONSISTENCY-2

Text : Galatians 6:9. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. A number of times, I've been encouraged and blessed by this song by Panam Percy Paul, and I will like to share some of its lyrics with you today. "Don't give up  It's not over When you give up, Then it's over. Hold on to the Lord  Trouble not your heart, Even when you fail, It's not over, don't give up." Many things may be prompting you to give up or give in. But since the Lord is not giving up on you, you have no right to give up on yourself.  We have an advocate who is majorly preoccupied with you winning the battle.  The devil wants you to quit, because he knows if you refused to quit, your victory is certain. Be consistent in prayers,  be consistent in well doing. Be consistent in your work for the Lord and you can be rest assured that He who sees what you do in secret, will surely reward you openly.  That it didn't work today doesn...

CONSISTENCY

Text : Galatians 6:9. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Even God knows there's the tendency for man to grow weary, that is why He gave the admonition in Galatians 6:9 not to be weary in well doing.  *The secret to lasting success lies in the power of consistency.*  Consistency ties directly into building habits that can positively change your behavior. Many businesses fail because the owners lack power of consistency.  As a business man, consistency is key, as a career athlete, consistency is key. As a matter of fact, in any chosen field or career, consistency is key. Now, as a child of God, consistency is definitely key. Only those who are consistently consistent will reap the benefits. Galatians 6:9. Don't be deter by oppositions or challenges. Remember,  when the going gets tough, only the tough gets going.   *Trophies are only given to winners and never to quiters. Keep on the right track and you wi...

I SHALL RISE AGAIN-3

Text :  Micah  7:8  Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me. Just as we have established through God's word that the just man falls seven times, and rises up again; today, we shall be looking at how you can rise from your fall. We shall be looking at David's fall into adultery with Bathsheba as a case study. Fall ranges from falling into a minor error to fatal ones, sins or failures in life. It can mean a shift from higher position to lower status. It could be failure in marital relationship, moral standard, ministry or business.  You must however know that, Though your fall is not God's desire, but God always seek to make it a great opportunity for your lifting, so that all may know that He(God) is the lifter up of your head. God is always willing to restore anyone that comes to Him for a lifting. A righteous man is always guaranteed of a divine lifting by God even if he falls seven ...

I WILL RISE AGAIN-2

Text :  Micah  7:8  Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me. You are made up of a bouncing stuff like a ball, and not like a flower vase made from ceramic; hence when you fall you shall rise again like a bouncing ball and you shall not be broken and shattered like flower vase. Proverbs  24:16 says  that " _For a just man falls seven times, and rises up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief" When a righteous man falls, he rises again, but when a wicked man falls that's the end. Today, we shall be looking at the latter part of our text which focuses on those sitting in the darkness.  The first thing you need to know is that darkness is anything but light. When you find yourself sitting in darkness, the LORD Himself shall be a light unto you.  This is the reason Jesus came as the light of the world. "The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them wh...
