TEXT: Matthew 21:13

*And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.*

It was established yesterday that God's house is the temple of God, the house of prayer,  or gate of heaven. These descriptions pass for what the church of God represents or should represent today.

When Jesus Christ entered into the temple of God, and cast out all the people that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, he said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves.(Matthew 21:12-13)

It is clear that the house of God which was supposed to be a house of prayer had been turned into a den of thieves. It has become a place of buying and selling, and no more a place of connecting with the LORD.

The Priests were more interested in selling materials for sacrifice than  leading people to offer themselves as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1).

While the motivation for the priests had turned from God to money, the inspiration of the congregation had also changed from offering themselves to God to offering things to God.

Could this be what our  churches has become too? The motivation of many preachers today is no longer God or His people but money, and fame. Even the members now feel more at home with giving their money than giving themselves *first* to the LORD.

This is a wrong order, Pastors are not supposed to accept any sacrificial giving from a member who has not first of all given himself or herself unto the LORD.

*The order of giving unto the Lord as stipulated in 2 Corinthians 8:4 &5 is, "They begged us again and again for the privilege of sharing in the gift for the believers in Jerusalem. They even did more than we had hoped, for their first action was to give themselves to the Lord and to us, just as God wanted them to do."*

*Give yourself first to the LORD, before you give your money to Him.*

Immediately Jesus sent those merchandising away from the temple, and declared it as the house of prayers,  revival took place.
The blind and the lame came to him in the Temple, and he healed them.(Matthew 21:14).

The presence of God came into the house of God and He opened the eyes of the blind and healed the lame.

May the Lord purge His church once again from all unclean and defiling things, so that the blind can see and the lame can walk in Jesus name.

 *BIBLE READING:*

Genesis 28:11-19.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

Father Lord, purge your church once again from all defiling things in Jesus name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
