TEXT: *Isaiah 12:3*
*Therefore with joy you will draw water From the wells of salvation.*
Just as the woman of Samaria at the well said to Jesus, "Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water?" In the same manner, you also cannot draw from the deep well of salvation without a well pulley.
Just as a well pulley (or bucket and rope) is needed to draw water from the well, so also Joy is needed to draw water from the wells of salvation.
In this case, joy is your well pulley ("drawer") with such you draw water from the well of salvation. Joy is an essential fruit of the Spirit. Without joy, you won't be able to access the crucial provisions that Salvation brings. This provision is the water you will draw with Pulley system of Joy from the wells of salvation.
God is the salvation, and there are many riches you are supposed to be drawing from him even as you delight yourself in Him.
*Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. (Psalms 37:4).*
The joy we are talking about is not the one you express when God has done something for you, rather it is the joy that comes from God's presence. It is the joy that comes to you as a result of your delightsome in the LORD. It is the joy of God's salvation. The psalmist says, *"You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of JOY...." (Psalms 16:11).*
Whatever miracle you receive from the Lord will certainly gladens your heart for few days or at most for few months, and thereafter the happiness will fade away. But, if the joy you receive is that of His presence, that's a full joy that will never fizzle away except for sin. That's what the scripture calls the joy of His salvation.
David asked for the restoration of this in *Psalms 51:12- 'Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit'*
As a believer, you've already got this joy in you, all you need do is to always abide in his presence, and you shall continually experience the fullness of His Joy.
Hence, it's your duty to always abide in God's presence that His Joy might continually fill your vessel, then you will be able to draw from the abundant wells of God's salvation.
