A NEW BEGINNING

TEXT: Lamentations 3:22–23.

“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.*
*They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness.”

Today is the second day of the New Year, the first day is already behind us. This naturally raises an important question: what truly makes a year new?

If you look around, you may realize that many things remain exactly the same as they were in 2025. The streets are the same. The people are the same. Responsibilities, work schedules, and life’s demands continue as usual. Any visible change may simply be the decorations or calendars we have replaced.

So what really brings about change? What truly makes a year new is not the date on the calendar, but the newness you allow God to create within you and around you.

Our text reminds us that it is only by the mercies of God that we are preserved. We did not survive the past year by strength, wisdom, or effort alone, but by God’s unfailing compassion. And the beauty of this truth is that *His mercies are not recycled, they are renewed every single morning.*

This means that every day presents an opportunity for a fresh start. Yesterday’s failures do not have to define today. Past disappointments do not have to determine the future. *God specializes in new beginnings, and He delights in doing new things in the lives of those who trust Him.*

As we progress into this New Year, open your heart to God’s renewing work. Allow Him to reshape your thoughts, renew your faith, restore your hope, and redirect your steps. When God is permitted to work, new beginnings become a daily reality, not just a yearly expectation.

 *PRAYER FOCUS:*

Father, thank You for Your mercies that are new every morning. As I begin this year, I surrender my life, plans, and desires to You. Do a new work in me, and let this year reflect Your faithfulness in every area of my life, in Jesus  name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
