LIVING FOR THE FUTURE

Text : *2 Corinthians 4:18* While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. Your today was once the future you saw yesterday. You must  know that the future is always your destination. It is therefore important for you to carefully live your today so that you can enter into a glorious and desired future. It is clear from the study text that the things which are seen are temporal and the things which are not seen are eternal. Today, we shall be looking at one of the things which you don't see-"The Future".  Ability to live in the future and to know the future is what makes God eternal. So, anyone who could live for that which is not seen, has also become an eternal being. As a child of God, it is  wise for you to live for the future. For instance, when God told Abraham that in his seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, it is possible...

BLESSING AND CURSING

Text :  James 3:10.  From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. It should not be like this, my brothers! In his letter, Apostle James was addressing believers all over about basic conducts of life. One of these conducts boils down to the use of our tongues. In His sermon on the Mount,  Jesus Christ, our Master also gave a caution on this issue as regards to judgement day-  *But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.* (Matthew 12:36). This goes to show that as a child of God, you should be careful what you say because you will be held responsible for everything you say. Again, Jesus said in Matthew 12:37 that, by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned. If your words are this powerful, wisdom demands that you pick them carefully.  As a new believer in Christ, one of the cautions the Holy Spirit gives is in your utterances. But as you progress in you...

ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER

Text:  James 2:18. But someone may say, “You have faith, and I have actions.” Show me your faith without any actions, and I will show you my faith by my actions.  *If every Christian practices what the Bible teaches, this world would be a better place for all to live in.* Unfortunately, what we have is more of professing Christians than practicing Christians. From the name, a professing Christian is anyone who claims to be a Christian without being Christ-like in actions or behavior. A practicing Christian is what we are called to be. A Christ-like individual who practices what he preaches or what the Bible preaches. Have you ever encountered professing Christians before, with their very appalling character? They make you wonder what type of Jesus they follow. A true Christian is not known by how long he prays and neither is he known by how frequently he goes to church. A Christian is known by his  lifestyle in the neighborhood, at his place of work, and among families an...
