Text : 2 Thessalonians 2:14.
With this purpose in mind, he called you through our proclamation of the gospel so that you would obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah.
A number of times, when you hear call to glory, what readily comes to mind is the death of someone. In fact, on this side of the world, "call to glory" is a common description for public announcement on obituary posters.
There's nothing glorious in the death of anyone who didn't die in Jesus Christ. As a matter of fact, God expects you to come into glory while you are still living here on earth. *Anyone who couldn't enter into God's kind of glory during his lifetime will not enter into eternal glory.*
A true call to glory is what we are told in 2 Thessalonians 2:14 that, _whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ._
You are called to glory by the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Many Christians can boldly tell you that they have not been called by God because they believe being called is all about being a pastor, a missionary, an evangelist and the likes.
Well, being called into the five-fold ministry is one type of calling in the Christian parlance, the other type of calling is to everyone in God's kingdom.
Once you received Jesus Christ into your life, you have been called to glory. Now, the question is which glory have you been called into?
*You have been called into the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ* . Undoubtedly, this world offers some sort of glory. Satan actually tempted Jesus Christ with the glories of this world. Matthew 4:8 says, _Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory._ It's obvious this world has glory in different dimensions and degrees.
What many people are looking for in Jesus Christ is the glory of this world, but what God wants to give you is the glory of Jesus Christ. Just like our master Jesus Christ, the devil is still tempting you with the glories of this world, please receive the grace to say No just like Jesus did.
1 John 2:17 says, *And the world and its desires are fading away, but the person who does God’s will remains forever.* Why should you trade eternal glory with temporary elements? Beloved, you have been called to glory, lay hold on what you have been called to.
