THE LAST DAYS - 2

TEXT: 1 Timothy 4:1.

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons.”

One major warning from the Spirit of God concerning these last days is the danger of deception.

While speaking in Gospel of Matthew 24 about the signs of the end of the age, Jesus said, “Take heed that no one deceives you. *For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.”* (Matthew 24:4–5).

It should not surprise you that there are many false prophets and teachers in these last days, they are simply fulfilling prophecy.

However, what you must guard against is becoming one of the many who are deceived.

One major tool of deception is false teachings. The Word of God describes such teachings as doctrines of demons (1 Timothy 4:1).

Beloved, beware. The devil is not trying to deceive those who already belong to him,  they are already captured. His target is God’s children. And one of his quickest strategies is to misuse the Word of God itself.

When Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness, he quoted Scriptures to Him. If he attempted to use the Word against the Author of the Word Himself, then you must remain vigilant.

In these last days, many preachers of eloquent but empty messages have gathered crowds to themselves. See to it that you are not taken captive by their craftiness.

The second Epistle of Paul to the Thessalonians 2:9–10 captures this clearly:
"The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the power of Satan. He will use every kind of power, including miraculous signs, lying wonders,  and every type of evil to deceive those who are dying, those who refused to love the truth that would save them.

It is clear that the only safeguard against these miracle-performing, lying and deceptive teachers is to love the truth of God’s Word.

First Epistle of Peter 2:2 instructs us to desire the sincere milk of the Word, that we may grow thereby.
You will ultimately receive what you desire. If you hunger and thirst for truth, God will satisfy your heart desires and deliver you from the corruption of this age.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
