RENEWING YOUR MIND

Text: Romans 12:2

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The mind is the centre of thoughts, the seat of emotions, the storehouse of memory, and the source of imagination. It produces all these with the help of your brain activity. The mind refers to  the thoughts, feelings and consciousness that arise from the brain's activity.

The brain is like the computer hardware, while the mind is the software. You can see and touch the computer hardware but you can't touch the software. That's the best analogy for the operations of your brain and your mind.

So, when you see a mad man, people will often say, he's lost his mind. The brain (hardware) is there, but the mind(software) is no longer functioning well anymore.

*When you want to change a man's life, you need to change his mind - his centre of thought* . The scripture sometimes use the heart and mind interchangeably.

For instance, *Proverbs 23:7 says, "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he..."* The Hebrew word "nephesh" used for heart in this verse is the same Hebrew word used for mind in Genesis 23:8. That's the same word from which soul is coined from. So, you can see now that the scripture sometimes refer to your mind, soul and heart as one thing - Nephesh.

Your mind is contained in your soul, so if you really want to experience transformation in your life, your mind and the entire soul had to be renewed.

The  Greek word from which renewing is coined can also mean renovation. *If your life will truly be transformed, then it must begin with the renovation of your mind- what you think and how you think.* Renovation had to begin in your mind, for you to experience transformation.

This is the simple explanation for the difference between an illiterate and literate. One has been educated but the other is not. So, the reasoning of one has changed, hence the  educated one is transformed.

In the same manner, when your mind is opened to the education of  Christ which is light, your mind will be transformed. You will become civilised as pertaining the things of God's kingdom. You can now love your enemies, bless those that curse you, and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you.

You might have been in the church for 30years, but nothing will substially change about you until your mind changes: and, your mind cannot change unless you are exposed to the undiluted word of God.

*Good information can educate you and change your natural estate, but it won't alter your spiritual estate- only the undiluted word of God can alter your nature.*

You must therefore *"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.(Colossians 3:16).*

*Many folks in the church aren't changing because they aren't hearing God's undiluted word or they aren't yielding themselves to the undiluted word of God.*

May you find grace to start  yielding yourself to the undiluted word of God in Jesus name.

 *PRAY* .

Father Lord, give me the grace to keep your precious and undiluted word in my mind and jn my heart, that I may be a doer and practitioner of your word in Jesus name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
