MAJOR IN THE MAJOR-2

TEXT: Luke 10:42.

But there’s only one thing you need. Mary has chosen what is better, and it is not to be taken away from her.

It's important to get somethings straight in the story of Mary and Martha.

1.) *Martha was a disciple of Christ:* . She did not just welcome Jesus into her heart, she welcomed Him into her house, thereby making it easy for her brother and sister to know the Lord too. ( Luke 10:38).

If you are a disciple of Christ, then today's message is for you. Don't just receive Jesus into your life, let those around you know He is the Lord of your life.

Open your home to others and let them meet Jesus there. Being born again is not a secret affair. Announce Him to your world. Remember, if you are ashamed of Him here, He will be ashamed of you in eternity. (Luke 9:26).

2.) *She was encumbered with service:* . Along the line, Martha was focusing more on working for God than walking with God. This is an error many of us commit so easily in our Christian journey. We focus on the gifts more than the Giver. We focus on the work rather than focus on the owner of the work. *You can only please God with your service when He is pleased with you as a person.*
Remember, God accepted Abel first before his offering. (Genesis 4:3-5).

You can be busy for Him and still be guilty. He desires obedience and not sacrifice. He prefers fellowship to mere religious services.

3.) *She wanted to drag other disciples into her overwhelming activities:* This is where you need to be careful. You are not meant to be in all meetings. You are not supposed to grace the occasion with your presence, if the master does not want you there.

You are not called to be in all the departments in your church. You are not meant to lead or be part of every unit or group. *That it seems good doesn't mean it is meant for you.*

*You cannot please God with numerous activities. Nobody likes jack of all trade anyway.* Let your eyes be single . Be a person who carries God and not just God's things. *When you value His presence more than anything else, He places things of value in your care.*

Beware of people who want to drag you into every activity in the name of God. Your time is your life, invest it wisely.

 *BIBLE READING*

Luke 10:38-42.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

Ask God for Grace and wisdom to discern what  truly matters. Pray for grace and strength to say no to both distractions and distractors in Jesus name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
