MEDITATE ON THESE THINGS!

Text: Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

One of the most difficult things to do is growing in your ability to choose your thoughts and to quench strange and negative thoughts that comes to mind.

Thoughts could either come from within (your heart) or from without.
Matthew 15:19 says, "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts..."
Evil thoughts proceed from the heart because *"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9).* Man is unable to produce good thoughts from his corrupt heart. *The best of thoughts any man could generate without Christ is still death.* Hence, in Genesis 6:5 "...God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." This is the result of the fall of man.

You can see that the same human that produces medicine to cure several diseases is still the same human that produces weapons to kill one another. That shows how thoughts in man can do good sometimes and still do evil some other times.

The scripture made it very clear that thoughts are what we think or reason from within our hearts. (Matthew 9:4, Luke 5:22). Thoughts are the substances that shape our lives. While our words are powerful, our thoughts are much more powerful than our words. This is because *our words are the by- product of our thoughts.*

*It is your thought that frame your life- "as a man thinks in his heart, so is he" (Proverbs 23:7).*  That's the reason meditation in the word of God is very essential for every believer. The word of God can be likened to water that washes and cleanses your heart from evil thoughts.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
