BOXING DAY

TEXT: Acts 20:35

*“…remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”*

Boxing Day is the day that follows the celebration of Christmas and draws our attention to one of the strongest expressions of Christ’s life on earth, *giving* .

While Christmas celebrates the gift of God to humanity, Boxing Day reminds us that true celebration is completed when we also give.

Jesus lived a life of selfless giving. He gave His time, strength, compassion, and ultimately His life for the salvation of mankind.

In Acts 20:35, we are reminded of His words: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” This statement challenges the culture of accumulation and points us toward a life of generosity and sacrifice.

Traditionally, Boxing Day is associated with sharing gifts with the less privileged. Spiritually, it is a call to open our hearts and hands to all within our circle. Giving is not limited to material things; it includes kindness, forgiveness, encouragement, and love.

When we give, we reflect the very nature of God, who gave His only Son for our redemption.
The true test of Christmas is not in how much we received but in how much Christ has transformed us into givers.

Boxing Day invites us to examine whether the joy of Christ in us is overflowing to bless others.

As we move forward from the celebrations, may our lives preach the gospel through generosity. Let us be intentional about giving, knowing that every act of love done in Christ’s name glorifies God.

 *BIBLE READING:*

Acts 20:32–35.

 *PRAYER FOCUS:*

Father, thank You for the gift of Your Son. Teach me to give cheerfully and sacrificially. Help me to reflect Your love through generosity in word and in deed in Jesus name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
