WALKING WORTHY

Text:Ephesians 4:1

I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,

Yesterday, we were able to establish the calling which we are to walk worthy of. Today, we shall be looking at how to walk worthy of the calling.

In Ephesians 4:1&2, Apostle Paul wrote thus:
*"I... beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, (Ephesians 4:1-2)*

Three virtues are highlighted as all-important factors with which every believer could walk worthy of. These virtues are bedrock for affirming your calling unto God.

Our Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 11:29 declared Himself as having two of these virtues. He said,  "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am *meek* and *lowly* in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls."

The first of these three virtues is lowliness (humility). If anyone would like to come to God, such must be lowly (humble). *Our God is so highly exalted yet very  lowly. Anyone that  desires to come to God must also be lowly(humble).*
For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: " I dwell in the high and holy [place,] With him [who] has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

This is the reason for which God resists  the proud. Hence, He's commanded us to be clothed with humility.
*"... all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for  " God resists the proud, But
 gives grace to the humble."*

Your calling is unto humility, for therein is the supply of grace upon your life.

If God and His Son are lowly, then no one can enter into their company without being lowly.
(Humble).

As a believer, humility is a strong virtue that helps you walk worthy of your calling.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
