MOVED WITH COMPASSION

Text : Matthew 9:36.
When he saw the crowds, he was deeply moved with compassion for them, because they were troubled and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

Today's devotional is expressly addressed to believers, -to those who identify as Children of God or as followers of Jesus Christ.

My brothers and sisters, when you see the crowd, what exactly did you see? How do you perceive people? Have you ever been called to lead a group before? How did you relate with the people?  Have you ever worked among men who had no clue about who God is, how did you fare among them?

As a true disciple (follower) of Christ, you are expected to feel the same thing your master felt when put in similar situation.

When Jesus saw the crowd, He was moved with compassion.
He didn't see an avenue to extort. He didn't see a platform to gloat or play God over the people. He was moved with compassion for them.

When you see that scammer in your street, are you moved with compassion? When you see that girl who parades herself almost naked on the road, in order to exchange her body for money, are you moved with compassion?

When you see that drug addicts, that wayward child, and those uncaring parents what readily comes to your mind?

When Jesus Christ saw the crowd, He was moved with compassion. Are you also moved with compassion when you see the helpless.

*We live in a damaged world, where damaged people look for another damaged person(s) to damage further.*

If the Lord has saved and healed you, the onus is on you to reach out to others with a heart of compassion and not condemnation.

2 Corinthians 1:4 says, *who comforts us in all our suffering, so that we may be able to comfort others in all their suffering, as we ourselves are being comforted by God.* So if you have received comfort from the Lord, comfort others as well.

Let the Lord fill your heart with compassion for the lost so you can see them the way God sees them.

*BIBLE READING* :

 Matthew 9:35-38.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

Father, please , fill my heart with compassion for the lost so I can be a worthy vessel in your hands in Jesus name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
