TEXT: 1 Corinthians 16:15
You know that Stephanas and his household were the first of the harvest of believers in Greece, and they are spending their lives in service to God's people. I urge you, dear brothers and sisters,
Stephanas happened to be the first convert of Apostle Paul in Achaia. According to first Corinthians chapter 1 verse 16, Paul baptized only Stephanas and his household.
At the end of Apostle Paul's letter in first Corinthians chapter 16, he commended Stephanas and two other saints who have committed and devoted themselves to ministering to the saints.
_I urge you, brethren—you know the household of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the ministry of the saints—that you also submit to such, and to everyone who works and labors with us._ (1 Corinthians 16:15-16)
Apostle Paul further emphasized the devotions of these three saints:
_I am glad about the coming of Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus, for what was lacking on your part they supplied. For they refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore acknowledge such men._ (1 Corinthians 16:17-18).
These men have committed themselves to the ministry of helping the saints. They visited Apostle Paul while he was away from the Corinthians. They refreshed him and brought great comfort to him. Paul said, they refreshed my spirit and yours. This means that they are well known for their ministry of help even in the church. These three men ministered to Apostle Paul when he needed fellowship of the brethren.
You see, God has not called everyone to go on the pulpit. Some have been called as Stephanas, Fortunatus and Achaius to bring encouragement, comfort and help to the saints of God.
Beyond the four walls of the building where we worship God corporately, two or three times in a week, God wants the saints to experience true fellowship with one another just as it was when the church began.(Acts 2:42-46). *Fellowship amongst the saints is not only limited to the four walls of the church building, in fact true fellowship takes place when brethren choose to visit one another in their homes, or anywhere outside the church.*
You can start within your local assembly, identify saints that are in need, visit them and fellowship with them.
Stand up and step into situations in order to supply what others are lacking.
God will reward your labour of love as you rise up to the task of refreshing the spirits of the saints and workers in His vineyard.
