EVER PRESENT HELP

Text : Psalm 46:1:

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Life has a way of shaking even the strongest foundations. Unexpected storms arise, fear, uncertainty, or pain—and we often find ourselves grasping for stability. But Psalm 46:1 offers a powerful truth: our stability is not found in our circumstances, but in our God.

The Psalmist did not say God will provide us a place of refuge, he says, God is our refuge. How very comforting this is.

When the psalmist calls God our refuge, he paints the picture of a safe shelter—a fortress where we can run and find protection. In the ancient world, cities had fortified walls and strongholds where people could flee for safety during battle.

Likewise, God invites us to take refuge in Him when life feels overwhelming. He doesn’t merely offer peace from afar; He is the place of peace.

The verse continues—He is also our strength. When our own strength runs dry, His power sustains us. He doesn’t just give us a portion of strength; He is our strength. This means we don’t have to face our trials with our limited ability but with His divine might.

And perhaps the most comforting part: “a very present help in trouble.” God is not distant. He is near, attentive, and active in our moments of distress. Even when we can’t feel Him, He is working behind the scenes—guiding, protecting, and holding us close.

When the Israelites were in dire need at the red sea, the very Present help came through for them. Exodus 14:8-16.

When anxiety rises, pause and whisper, “God, You are my refuge.”

When you feel weak, remind yourself, “God, You are my strength.”

When trouble comes, believe and say, “God, You are my present help.”

*Run to God—not as a last resort, but as your first response, He is ever Present to help.*

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
