DO YOU LOVE LIFE?

Text : *1 Peter 3:10-11*

"He who would love life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it.

Today, we shall begin to consider God's demands for those who truly love life, and who love to see good days.

*Life* in our study text is not referring to life which is the vital force which animates the body and shows itself in breathing. Life here is actually referring to the higher life which is  God's kind of life (Zoe). So, if you love God's life which is full of vitality and wholeness, and if you love to see good days then you must:

1.refrain your tongue from evil,

2.refrain your lips from speaking deceit.(hypocrisy).

3.turn away from evil and do good; and

4.seek peace and pursue it.

The above are the four cardinal points to life and good days.

Firstly, God would have lovers of life and lovers of good days to refrain from speaking evil. *Evil is of the devil you know.* So, to speak evil is to do that which is of the devil. Don't speak evil of your neighbor, your brethren or anyone at all.

You must keep your tongue from evil communication because it corrupts good manners.
(1 Corinthians 15:33).

*Anyone who keeps his tongue is keeping his destiny.* It was the tongue that made the thief by the left hand of Jesus (on the cross) lose salvation, on the contrary, it is the same tongue that helped the other thief by the right hand side of Jesus to make it to paradise. (Luke 23:29-43).

*Watch what you say with your tongue for your words are building materials for your life and your world in the realm of the spirit.*

*BIBLE READING* :

Luke 23:35-43.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

Father Lord, I receive the grace to always refrain my tongue from evil in Jesus name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
