THE PROCESS-2

Text :  Isaiah 64:8.

But as for you, O LORD, you are our Father; and we are clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hands.*

Yesterday, we considered the story of Joseph and how God passed him through process. He passed through the process without compromising at any stage and he  came out a complete, and perfect product in God's hand.

Today, we shall be considering another man who went through his process and came out whole and complete.

Today, we shall be looking at the life of David. As a young boy growing up in Jesse (his father's) house, he had learnt how to lead flock of sheep. He was a shepherd boy, while his brothers were soldiers.

Little did he know that God was preparing and processing him to lead His most cherished nation (Israel).
*Sometimes, God may decide to process a man after his own heart in the wilderness and not in the palace.*  God processed and perfected David in the wilderness. Even when he found his way into the palace, God still sent him out into the wilderness through the hand of King Saul.

Let's quickly looked at the different phases of the process God took David through:

*1. Wilderness Process:*  David stayed in the wilderness as a shepherd boy with his father's sheep. He was there learning how to defend animals against their predators.

1 Samuel 17:34-35 recorded David's encounter in the wilderness. He said to King Saul, while your servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him."

At this point, David had passed the test of LOVE for Israel ( sheepfold). A man that can fight for the deliverance of mere  animals can as well do same and much more for his fellow humans.

The wilderness experience has processed him into a Psalmist. While leading the sheep. He had learnt to sing spontaneous Praise and worship unto God.

David as a young boy had been taking a lot of time in the secret, preparing himself before the Lord as a Psalmist. It is quite clear that *You cannot display a talent that you have not perfected behind the door.*

*Your time of your process and preparation is your time of obscurity and loneliness.* You must make good use of this time instead of seeking any self-pity.

 *BIBLE READING* :

1Samuel 17:30-40.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Father, help me to cooperate with you during my time of preparation.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
