UNBELIEF

Text: Joshua 5:6.

The Israelis traveled 40 years in the wilderness until the entire nation—that is, the warriors who had departed from Egypt—had perished because they hadn’t listened to the voice of the LORD. The LORD had promised them that he would not let them see the land that he had sworn to give us, a land that flows with milk and honey.

Approximately six hundred thousand (600,000) men (not including women and children) left Egypt for the promised land. This number refers to men of fighting age, that is, 20 years and older. Exodus 12:37.

Of this vast number, only two made it to the promised land. This obviously wasn't God's plan for them, they all died in the wilderness because of their disobedience.

The book of Hebrews  specifically stated that the sin that these Israelites committed was the sin of unbelief. So we see that they were unable to enter because of their unbelief. Hebrews 3:19.

Unbelief is not just a sin against yourself. It is an insult on the person of God. God delivered the Israelites with a mighty hand from slavery in Egypt. They witnessed all the great wonders He performed on their behalf. They saw how He parted the red sea. They saw how he drown Pharaoh and his armies in the same red sea, they saw how He gave the water to drink from the rock. They experienced all of these and more.

So, when He told them He's taking them on a journey to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, they couldn't believe Him because they felt the people in that land were bigger and stronger than them.

Like the Isrealites, God is taking you on a journey. He's preparing you for the big role He has in mind for you. Every obstacle you have faced and overcome is God's way of bracing you up for the bigger one ahead. He expects you to know that He is more than able to see you through whatever challenge you are facing, because He has seen you through some challenges in the past.

When you refused to obey His instructions because you are afraid of the challenges ahead of you, you are simply saying that those obstacles are bigger than God, and God doesn't take it lightly when you give His place and glory to another.

Six hundred thousand people with the exception of just two, died because they refused to believe that God is able to do what He says He will do. To disbelieve God after He has proven Himself strong and mighty in your life is to incur the wrath of God.

Hear the conclusion from Hebrews 3:12, *See to it, my brothers, that no evil, unbelieving heart is found in any of you, as shown by your turning away from the living God.*

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

HIS VOICE- 2

Text : John 10:3. To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. We established yesterday that one thing you can't joke with as a true follower of Christ is *His Voice.* You must recognise and hearken to (obey) His voice. It is in doing this that your safety is assured.  Today, we want to see another responsibility of the Shepherd over His sheep.  To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, *and leads them out.* John 10:3.  He called you, that He might lead you. It is not enough for you to hear or recognise His Voice, you must allow Him to lead you as well.  Romans 8:14 says *For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.*   The Spirit leading you determines the family you belong to. Basically,  there are only two families in this world - the family of God, and the family of satan. In other words, we can say the Kingdom...
