SIGHT-2

Text: Mark  10:51

So Jesus answered and said to him, "What do you want Me to do for you?" The blind man said to Him, "Rabboni, that I may receive my sight."

Bartimeaus, when he heard that Jesus was passing by, he began to cry, "Jesus have mercy on me, thou Son of David"  unlike the lame man at the beautiful gate  (Acts 3:1-3), Bartimeaus was able to discern Jesus and his healing power. All he wanted was mercy and not money. His strong desire for sight outweighs his desire for money.

In the same way, a man who values Spiritual sight over material things will go any length to accomplish this in God.

What efforts are you making to have your eyes of understanding (spiritual sight) illuminated? Bartimeaus shouted and no one could hold him down from shouting because he was desperate for sight. When the people around him asked him to maintain decorum and stop shouting, the scripture says,"...he cried the more a great deal". (Mark 10:48).

Jesus heard him and commanded the same people who had asked him to stop shouting to call Bartimeaus. It is important for you to know that some spiritually blind people around you are not concerned about your sight. Such people will often ask you to take things easy on yourself. Knowingly or unknowingly, they simply want you to maintain status quo and remain in the same situation.

Immediately Bartimeaus received Jesus' invitation, the scripture says that he cast away his garment. He was no longer willing to remain in the same condition with the garments that gave him comfort in blindness. He was tired of any comfort he's been getting from anything that could not cure his blindness.

Bartimeaus was eager and willing to give up anything for Jesus' invitation in order to receive his sight.

Are you also desirous and willing to give up anything for the sake of gaining your spiritual sight?

When Jesus asked Bartimeaus what his request was, he simply asked for his sight and nothing more.

In this same manner, you must know that  your spiritual sight is much more important than many other blessings you may desire. When you have sight, you will no longer stumble. Spiritual sight will give you wisdom and direction. Most importantly, you will be able to come into your greater blessing when your eyes are opened.

May the Lord open your eyes that you may behold wondrous things out of his law. (Psalms 119:18).

*There are wondrous things in the scripture, but only those whose eyes of understanding have been illuminated can see and receive it.*

 *BIBLE READING*

Mark 10:46-52.

 *PRAYER FOCUS*

1. Father Lord illuminate my eyes of understanding that I may know what is the hope of your calling, and what the riches of the glory of your inheritance in the saints are.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

HIS VOICE- 2

Text : John 10:3. To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. We established yesterday that one thing you can't joke with as a true follower of Christ is *His Voice.* You must recognise and hearken to (obey) His voice. It is in doing this that your safety is assured.  Today, we want to see another responsibility of the Shepherd over His sheep.  To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, *and leads them out.* John 10:3.  He called you, that He might lead you. It is not enough for you to hear or recognise His Voice, you must allow Him to lead you as well.  Romans 8:14 says *For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.*   The Spirit leading you determines the family you belong to. Basically,  there are only two families in this world - the family of God, and the family of satan. In other words, we can say the Kingdom...
