LOOKING BACK TO MOVE FORWARD

Text:  Luke 15:17&18

But when he came to himself, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you,

When you look back at where God has taken you from, how far He has brought you, and where He promised to take you to, then you will know that this is not the right time for you to give up.

It's not time to give up on yourself! It's not time to give up on your vision! It's not time to give up on God!

According to our study text, the younger son walked out on his father into a far country, and there wasted his possession with prodigal living.

Although, the younger son was in the wrong, but he was able to make things right with his father when he reconsidered his ways.

The prodigal Son simply looked back by considering the privileges he was missing. As he looked back, he was able to move forward first in his thought, then he took action.

You always need to decide to either move forward or backward. There is no middle ground. When you are not making a decision to move forward in your walk with the Lord, then you are simply sliding back. Stagnancy is as good as sliding back. *No matter how small or slow your steps are, just make sure  you are moving forward in God's direction.*

As we are moving into the next and the last half of the year, it would be a wise decision for you to look back at the beginning of the year, the beginning of your walk with the Lord and every aspect of your life. See if there is any misalignment, look forward to where God is taking you, then take a step forward in that  direction.

The prodigal Son, having come to his senses, he did three things:

1. *He reviewed his Past* (he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have  enough bread to eat and to spare, and I perish with hunger! Luke 15:17).

2. *He looked forward.* (He said, "I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you..." Luke 15:18-19).

3. *He acted* ( "And he arose and went to his father...." 15:20).

As much as you must not be held down by the past, you must as well reconsider your past, then look forward  into your desired future, then take a practical towards the desires future.

Luke 15:12- 20.

 *PRAYER FOCUS.*

Father Lord open my eyes to know where I have missed it, and how to align myself to your will and purpose for my life.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
