LEADERSHIP BY LOVE

Text: 1 John 3:16

By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Yesterday we looked at how a man can come into leadership by taking responsibility. Today, we shall be looking at how you can assume leadership position by simply walking in love towards the brethren or even those outside the church.

Jesus Christ our Lord became the author of salvation because He laid down His life for us. He has therefore become the captain of GOD our salvation. For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.(Hebrews 2:10).

Jesus Christ loved us and He laid down His life for us, He is now laying a demand on you to do same- lay down your life for the brethren.

By walking in love towards the brethren and your neighbor, you automatically receive the grace to be able to lead people towards God.

We shall be considering the life of Joseph on how he was able to lead the whole household of Jacob by simply showing unconditionald love and unparallel forgiveness towards his evil brethren.

Having sold Joseph into slavery, his brethren met before with him in Egypt while scavenging for food. The  famine which the Lord showed to Pharaoh had already began to ravage the world, and Jacob had asked Joseph's brethren to go to Egypt for corn.

When Jacob revealed himself to his brothers, he said to them, "...do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life. And _God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance_ So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.(Genesis 45:5-8).

Joseph preserved the posterity of Jacob through love. He led them out of extinction simply by walking in love. He pardoned the grievous sin of his brethren and by that, he delivered the whole generation of Israel.

When you chose to lay down your life for the brethren just as Jesus did, you may also be leading a whole generation into God's promise land.

Sure, Jacob and his children were dwelling in Canaan as strangers as at the time of the famine, but if Joseph had not led them out of Canaan, they would  never have lived to see the fulfillment of God's promise to Abraham.

As you daily walk in love, you need to know that you are a leader. And you are simply leading people out of death.

It was Joseph's love and not just his position (as second in command to Pharaoh( that made him lead his whole family and their future generation out of extinction by famine.

Whether you are occupying a position or not, loving people automatically makes you a genuine and better leader than anyone occupying a position but not walking in love.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

WAY MAKER-2

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. He has done this before, and He will do it again even in your own life.  When the children of Israel left Egypt, the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them, encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.(Exodus 14:9). Just like anyone would react, the Isrealites became so fearful because there is neither way forward nor back for them to escape. Before them was the red sea, behind them were the Egyptian armies. They became perplexed and began to murmur against Moses. It is possible you are also in a situation like the Israelites- No way forward, and no way behind. Things may appear like you are ...

TIME IN ETERNITY

Text : Psalms 90:12  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom._  Our God dwells in eternity past, present and future. In between these phases of eternity, He created man to dwell in Time. When man sinned, he fell short of God's plan, and death came in.(Rom 3:23). Death therefore short circuit man's life in eternity. This is the reason Jesus.came.  He had to come into TIME in order to remove the PAUSE  death HAD on man.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.  Every man born into this world automatically becomes an eternal being. The question therefore is, which side of eternity would such a man dwell? Everlasting life or Everlasting condemnation? Time is an opportunity given to man to trade for eternal life. You have limited time to exchange for eternal life in eternity.  Time offers you the opportunity to ga...
