ANCIENT LANDMARK

Text: Proverbs  22:28 

Remove not the ancient landmark, which your fathers have set.

Ancient landmarks are physical markers like a stone or piles of stones used to denote property boundaries in ancient times. These markers are set to establish inheritances. 

We shall be looking at this ancient landmark in terms of spiritual markers or symbols that the Lord has set for us in order that our inheritance in Him might be preserved.

The scriptures made it very clear that you are the one who has the responsibility of not removing the ancient landmark. Also the landmarks were set by fathers. 

Today, we shall be looking at the ancient landmark of Faith. The scripture rightly asks us to contend for the faith (ancient landmark) which was once for all delivered to the saints.
 *Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. (Jude 1:3).* 

The whole of Hebrews 11 spelt out the exploit carried out by the Fathers who have gone ahead of us, and the landmarks which they have set for us. 

Faith as outlined in Hebrews 11 is an ancient landmark which was first of all set by  the very Father of fathers Himself through His word. After God had set the landmark, Abel followed in maintaining the boundaries. You are to maintain the ancient landmark of faith and contend earnestly for it in order to inherit the promise.

May we become the people that will uphold the good boundaries which our fathers have set.

Father God , please help me not to remove the ancient landmark of Faith which you have set for me in Jesus name.

Text: Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing: now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness,  and rivers in the desert. God promised that He will do a new thing for you, and that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Text : John 10:3. To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. We established yesterday that one thing you can't joke with as a true follower of Christ is *His Voice.* You must recognise and hearken to (obey) His voice. It is in doing this that your safety is assured.  Today, we want to see another responsibility of the Shepherd over His sheep.  To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, *and leads them out.* John 10:3.  He called you, that He might lead you.
