DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT

Text: John 2:3

And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, "They have no wine.".

Our Lord *Jesus Christ attended all kinds of events except Funeral service.* He does not celebrate the dead in anyway. If he should attend any funeral service, He would have disappointed many mourners who use funeral ceremony as a means of making money and for display of self-indulgence lifestyle.

Thank God the scripture clearly recorded Jesus' utmost interest in marriage. He honoured an invitation for wedding in Cana Galilee. alongside with his disciples.

Along the line, the wine got finished. This singular incident could halt the merriment of the occasion, and it would certainly bring shame to the groom and by extension to the bride and their families.

Perhaps, while the master of ceremony (MC) was trying to manage the situation, Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ got wind of the information that the wine has finished!

She quickly met with Jesus secretly and told him about the situation that was about to stop the joy of the wedding ceremony and bring shame to the groom, and the bride.

According to the scripture, Jesus has not performed any miracle before that time, at least not in the public. John 2:11 says, "This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him."

His mother went to
Jesus and told him to do something about the situation.
Though, it appeared she didn't get a straight positive  response from Jesus, she however went to His disciples to alert them. She said to them- whatever he may say to you- do!

It only takes an unwavering Faith in Jesus Christ for Mary to have gone to his disciples to get them ready for action.

All that Mary was doing at this point in time is what we can refer to as "Intercession". She was interceding and advocating for the couples-to-be and their families in order to save them from public shame.

Do you have anyone in your life like Mary? Do you have anyone watching your back? Do you have anyone keeping you in their minds and hearts, keeping eyes on you to see that things are going on well around you?

It is extremely important for you to be very sure of the kind of people you invite into your life, the kind of people you relate and associate with. The bride and the groom unknowingly got themselves delivered from shame by simply inviting Jesus Christ and  Mary to their wedding.

Mary was interceding for the bride and the groom so that they will not be ashamed. She ensured that their song of joy never stopped playing. She did guarantee that the smiles on the faces of the celebrants never stopped. Mary did not allow the groom to be running helter skelter looking for how to get another tank of wine

Mary stepped into their situation and resolved their issues without the bride and groom knowing.

May the Lord raise men for you. Men who are genuinely faithful.

I have a spiritual Father who has been praying for me for over twenty years on a consistent basis. Anytime he calls me, he'll say, "I am  praying for you"  One day I visited him in his house in the Northern part of Nigeria. He reached out to a small old jotter and showed me the particular page where he has written my name for prayer on a particular day of the week. I sometimes think such prayers have gotten me delivered from many dangers and shame.

Pastors and church leaders should be like Mary. It is not enough to preach and teach your people. You must always pray for them in your closet. You must move things in the realm of the spirit on their behalf.

May the Lord raise more  people like Mary in our churches in Jesus name.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
