Text : Genesis 11:6.
The LORD said, “Look! They are one people with the same language for all of them, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. Nothing that they have a mind to do will be impossible for them!
To stay united as a group, a family, an organization, or even as member of the body of Christ, it takes effort on the part of individual member.
Ephesians 4:3 says, *Do your best to maintain the unity of the Spirit by means of the bond of peace.* The question is, are you really doing your best to maintain peace everywhere you go.
When the devil wanted to stop the early disciples from propagating the gospel, he sowed a seed of discord among them. (Acts 6:1). Thank God the Apostles were wise enough to quickly nip that division in the bud. (Acts 6:2-7).
No family can thrive to the best of their abilities if they are not united. No local assembly can succeed according to the will of God if they are disunited. Amos 3:3 posed a candid question, it says, Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
You walk in unity not because everyone is behaving well but because you are able to forebear one another.
Unity is a vital aspect of faith and community. Unity is presented as a reflection of God's character, and a means of fulfilling God's purpose.
In John 17, Jesus repeatedly prays for his followers to be one, just as he and the Father are one, demonstrating His desire for unity among believers.
God desires unity among His children.
Unity is not just a desirable trait, but a necessary one for the flourishing of faith, community, and the fulfillment of God's purposes.
