GOD'S HELP

Text: Psalms 33:20
Our soul wait for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.

What would be your sincere counsel for a man who is struggling  in a sinking mud? You realise that he is stuck, and the more he  struggles to come out, the more he sinks down below the earth surface?

The very simple counsel to give this man is to relax and wait for help. That's his only best option.

Sometimes you find yourself in this kind of situation where every single effort you take seems ineffective. It appears like you are coming out of one trouble to enter into another. Just like a man in a sinking mud, all you've got to do is to cry and wait for help. Stop struggling, you can't help yourself.

Unlike the widespread lies and unscriptural statement that says, God help those who help themselves, *God does not help those who help themselves, He only help those who wait on Him for help.*

Once upon a time, two women in Samaria, Israel made an attempt to help themselves out of their predicament. In an attempt of self-help, they eventually did the unthinkable.

The famine became so severe that Inflation rate rose so high and prices of commodities skyrocketed. They don't even have option of importation because the real cause of the famine was besiegement by the enemy.

Things got so bad that two women agreed to kill, cook and eat their own children. One actually did. Perhaps she had  been deceived by the other woman, but the fact is they became cannibals because of famine.

While the aggrieved woman whose son had been killed was seeking 'justice' for the seeming 'injustice' by the other woman who refused to follow agreement to kill her own son for supper, she called upon the king to narrate the situation.

She cried, "help my Lord O King" The King, having not heard about the gory situation replied, " If the Lord does not help you, where can I find help for you?"

Today, the main point I will like you to take away from here is that you should cease your struggles in trying to find yourself help at all cost. Go to God. He's our only HELP. The king cannot help you, your connection cannot, your permutating skills cannot, your money can't even help you-only God has got the help!

You may even get yourself into more troubles like the women in Samaria when you don't surrender to God.

Relax yourself even in the midst of the bad situation, help is on the way.

*All of our help comes from the Lord, simply look unto Him.*

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
