FAMILY MATTERS 2

Text:  Psalms 127:2.

It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

A family unit consists of the father, mother and the children. In this setting, the leader of this family unit is the father.
Everything rises and falls on the leader, this popular saying is so very correct.

Have you ever wondered why the serpent did not engage the animals or any other creatures in a conversation in the garden of Eden? To disrupt the plan of God for mankind, the serpent went straight to the leaders God had placed in the Eden and the rest is history today.

The serpent is still targeting the head today. This explains why many fathers are not correct. The Devil knows that once the father is incorrect, the whole family will go wrong. Don't be a prey in his hands, seek to be a correct father.

Dear father, take a second look at our text again. It says, "it is vain for you to rise up early and to sit up late". Many fathers are slaving from dusk to dawn and from dawn to dusk again just so they could make ends meet for their families. This is very applaudable but everything will be tantamount to vanity if the God aspect is missing.

This world's system is designed to take people's gaze away from God onto survival mode. It looks very normal for people to hurry out of the house to hustle. Man has come to believe that his sweat and strength will gain him livelihood. Yet, the word of God says, "...by strength shall no man prevail." (1 Samuel 2:9)

The second part of our text says, God gives his beloved sleep. Anyone who has not received the rest of God will eventually eat the bread of sorrow.

God did not design man for survival. Man is designed for dominion. (Genesis 1:26). In Matthew 6:33, Jesus said that Godows your need, and He has made adequate provision for all your needs to be met. All you need do is use your time to seek Him and to obey Him.

As a young fellow, you don't wait till you are a  father before you learn how to fight against the wiles of the devil. *It takes a well brought up boy in God to grow into a well-rounded father, who will in turn raise a Godly children that will raise down the gate of hell.*

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
