THE "IF'S" OF LOVE 2

Text : John 15:10

If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.

God's love for the world was made manifest through Jesus Christ who is grace and truth. So, we can safely say that God's love is the manifestation of grace and truth.

Therefore, God's unconditional love was made manifest to the world through the offering of His only begotten Son. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.(John 3:16).

The scriptures also highlighted God's unconditional love in Romans 5:8 saying that  God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Many believers  simply stay on these and more scriptures to build up the doctrine of God's unconditional and extravagant love. Yes they are right! But to abruptly neglect the 'IF's' of the LOVE of God, while claiming all of God's love will certainly lead to erroneous teachings.

God loves us, and he called us out of our sins,   but he does not wants us to remain in our sins and disobedience. You can't remain in disobedience and be praying for increase in Grace.

Jesus mentioned in several parts of the gospels how He earned the love of the Father.

Therefore does my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.(John  10:17). The Father loves him because he laid down his life.

He also mentioned in John  15:10 that *If* ye keep his commandments, you shall abide in his love; even as he had kept his Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

It is clear here that this is not an unconditional love. It's a love bestowed when a believer has kept commandment. This is not the "for God so loved the world kind of love" This is the  conditional kind of Love.

John 16:27 also says, *"For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God."*  The Father himself loves you. Why? Because you have loved and believed Jesus that he came from God.

God has deeper level and realms of love, which heretic teachers of the word do not understand. While He's not a perfomancist, He is also a rewarder of diligent seekers (Hebrews 11:6).

While God's love for you may not be based on your performance, any one who has truly received His love will respond by loving Him back.

To respond to God's love, you must keep his commandments.

Jesus said in John 14:15 remarked "If you love Me, keep My commandments.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
