TEMPTATION

Text : Matthew 4:1.

After this, Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

After Jesus had been baptized, he immediately came up out of the water. Suddenly, the heavens opened up for him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him.

Then a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love. I am pleased with him!” Matthew 3:17. Immediately after this, Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness. The Holy Spirit led our master into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

It is the work of the devil to tempt. While God may be using a situation to test you, the devil will be using the same situation to tempt you.

God permitted you to be tested so He can give you promotion, the devil brings temptation your way so you can be demoted in the spirit realm.

James 1:2 says, _My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing._

So, temptation is something you can't really avoid as a child of God. Immediately after God announced that Jesus Christ was His son in whom He is pleased, it was recorded that the Spirit led Him to a place where He will be tested.

Just like a well-meaning teacher will be confident in letting his outstanding student write exams anywhere, so also will God be proud of you (even before Satan) when he brings divers temptation your way.

When you are faced with temptation, know that it is because you have attained some heights in the spirit realm and the devil will like to try your originality, please don't fail heaven.

One thing that the trying of your faith wants to work out in you through temptation is PATIENCE. *DON'T RUN AHEAD OF GOD. LET PATIENCE HAVE HER PERFECT WORK IN YOU SO YOU MAY  BE PERFECT AND WHOLE.* James 1:2-4.

THE GOOD FIGHT-2

Text:  1 Timothy  6:12   Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Another thing to pursue in fighting the good fight of faith is Godliness. We understand through the Holy scriptures that godliness is profitable unto all things.   *For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.* 1 Timothy  4:8.  You will reap the reward of your godliness not only when you get to heaven, but from here on earth. And this is why we are admonished to exercise ourselves unto godliness. (1 Timothy  4:7), because godliness with contentment is great gain.1 Timothy  6:6. Godliness is the practice of conforming to the image of God by reflecting the nature of the kingdom of God in the course of everyday life. In other words, godliness is living and portray...

IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN

Text: Matthew 4:6. He told Jesus, “Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, because it is written,   ‘God will put his angels in charge of you,’ and,   ‘With their hands they will hold you up, so that you will never hit your foot against a rock.’ Jesus knocked devil off with "it is written" when he came to him with the first temptation. So, the devil too decided to use "it is written" for Jesus for the second temptation.  Don't be deceived, the devil knows the scriptures too. Second Corinthians 11:14 says,  "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." So, it's no surprise when you see Satan's messengers masquerading themselves as Apostle of Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:14.  The word of God is perfect. Yet, many people can twist it to their advantage and ultimately to their disadvantage. A drunk, smoker, fornicator, liar and all sort can justify their sinful lifestyles with a Bible verse. See to it that you do not twist the word of Go...

IN MY NAME.

Text : Mark 16:17-18  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Having believed in the gospel (Good news of the resurrection of Jesus and His victory over Sin, Satan and Death), you now need to start using the name of Jesus authoritatively. JESUS said that in His name you shall cast out devils; you shall speak with new tongues; you shall take up serpents; and if you drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you; you shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This means that you will undertake all these in the authority of Jesus' name. No matter how small or powerless you may think you are in your own eyes. Once you believe in His name, you shall do all that He promised.   Unbelief was the sin that Israelites committed that wasted a whol...
